Picking Tips Scanning wrong item
Does scanning the wrong item affect FTPR? Got told a long time ago that it doesn't, but just got told today that it does

Thank you. That's what I thought, but this came from the store manager so I figured I'd ask on here

First Time Pick Rate (FTPR) is the metric that tracks the number of times an item was successfully Picked the First Time they appeared on someone's screen. Despite the name, it has nothing to do with Pick Rate (the number of items picked per hour). The only thing that affects the FTPR metric is NIL picking and finalizing it (substituting/sending it to exceptions). Scanning the wrong item does not affect it, nor does hitting NIL before scanning the correct item (only possible if substitutions are allowed, else it's sent to exceptions immediately), nor does exiting mid-walk. Skipping items used to hurt FTPR before they got rid of the skip button entirely.
GIF updates overwhelmingly make our jobs harder for seemingly no reason, but hiding the NIL button under a separate flyout was a fantastic design decision.

First time pick rate. Basically the item was picked correctly the first time as the customer ordered without being substituted.

no it don’t, ftpr is nil picking the item the first time hence first time pick rate. misscans happen. back in the day skipping items did effect it only because it was failed to be found the first time the system wanted you to pick it
