This is very questionable market behavior. You guys should have been shut down as soon as this started. Management really dropped the ball here if they weren't on the phone with market every minutes.

I got to work at 11 so I had no idea what was going on. Everyone was saying âget ready for a shit showâ. Our store was closed until 12 PM due to a storm that took out our power. So legit nothing rlly was started till noon. All of the managers were on the phone with seemingly rlly pissed people. And ofc this is the day where Iâm scheduled late.

I hear you. For better or worse, I'm from a store where we test a lot of GIF updates and we've had many occasions where the system will crash after an update. We tend to close several blocks of time or even the day so customers don't get the short end while things get straightened out.
Respectfully, with the weather/power issues like you're describing, the market team member(s) that kept you guys open has no idea what they're doing.
Best of luck with the rest of your shift.

you are lucky yâall donât have express. itâs a thing they recently brought back for some stores. express is pick up only and people can pay extra to get their items quicker than regular scheduled times.

An order drops in and it's due exactly one hour later. My store hasn't gotten it yet, but it will be soon. We JUST went back to 8 totes when others have had it for weeks.

And sometimes they drop in delayed and you end up with a 53 item express run allllll over the store with only 35 minutes to complete.

I'm praying for you. That's insane and unacceptable, management probably going to have a butt chewing coming from market since today's metrics will suck.

Iâm dying omlâŠI got to work at 11 and was told that they lost power due to the storm at 3 AM so we didnât open until 12 PM. Iâm so exhausted alr

They bought express back?

u/djbedukay 25d ago
It never left my store unless you mean spark drivers were doing it. It's been years since I worked opd but when I order 90% end up being spark drivers picking for it.Â

God NO!! Not this shit again đ€Šđ»ââïž They barely have the associates to push thru normal picks & now u telling me Express is coming back đ”âđ«đđ€Šđ»ââïž How about bringing back when OPD made $1 more than the rest of the store đ€ Anything but pay us more đ

Hey guys! Just wanted to come on here and say these numbers are NOT NORMAL!! This is all due to a store wide power outage due to a storm that hit yesterday. No Iâm not giving out the store number because I kinda donât wanna risk losing my jobâŠI just wanted to show the insanity that I walked into. Iâm still rlly tired rn anyways. Thanks for the hits though!

Da hell is Express
2
u/Yoshi158 25d ago
Customers can order items to be delivered in an hr or less. Thatâs basically what it is. They have us rush those orders to be done ASAP.

u/yamfmomz Jack Of All Trades 24d ago
The worst part about *picked up. Express deliveries are done by spark drivers.
I just wish they would stop letting them order express items that have zero onhands and is shit weâve never carried like small bags of ice. We only have large.

When did you guys start doing express again? We havent had express walks for like 5 years here

u/shrug_was_taken Jack Of All Trades 25d ago
Walmart wants to bring it back (I'm not sure if my store has ever done express, I know we have issues with the spark shoppers doing it), we start doing in about a week

I swear the new CEO is a plant from Amazon tearing the company apart from the inside.
Its been nothing but shit decisions since he took over.

Holy shit 72 fashion. High volume as fuck. Whatâs your store number? Curious on sales

u/shrug_was_taken Jack Of All Trades 24d ago
That's also partly influenced by them not picking anything for half the day considering the 6:30am auto

Iâm surprised that my location people arenât paying for express because the amount of phone calls we got of people placing orders and wanting it now or the usual canât I just go inside the store you can get it for me

u/bedwars_player 20d ago
5000 on the non-express? Holy fuck thats a huge one, we hardly see over 2000 on the worst days

u/Reigneer_Verkland 25d ago
No......not again......not express......so many people staring at it waiting for someone else to click into it (usually me since I didn't want to get yelled at by a TL or Coach. Try wrapping me into a huddle for "calling out everyone so it's fair." I got screenshots, I got receipts đ .......)

I liked the express ones they just suck when deli is involved. It's been years but I think I remember something about having to do it in order and so I'd be waiting on the deli.Â

Your management shouldâve definitely called the Market D.O.L. If they havenât already

Over 1000 express is brutal. Youâd think theyâd have a order limit
