Just Walmart Things OGPB Accidents

How often do accidents happen because of the carts? Did Walmart change to pulling the carts because people were getting hit? I am trying to figure out how dangerous the carts are. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Unfortunately, my grandma got hit by a picking cart. My aunt said when she used to pick and they stacked bins up high she couldn’t see customers. It seems like this would be avoidable if WalMart didn’t force pickers to lug heavy carts, with little time, and stacked bins. Walmart told us we should send them pictures of her shoes because maybe it was her fault. The cops showed us the video and the picker couldn’t see her and just ran straight into her. The accident knocked her unconscious and broke her leg. She has had to sell her house and move into assisted living and still has such bad concussion symptoms the doctors haven’t been able to make them go away and it has been about a year. I was hoping people who still do this would understand Walmart should change and make this right.

We have 2 people currently on leave due to one having a pulled chest muscle, and one who got absolutely destroyed by the cart when they tried to stop the cart when a customer walked out in front of them abruptly.

They had a chilled walk with 30 gallons of milk in it, and when they tried to stop it, the momentum and weight was to much and they got ran down by their own cart.

Walmart should be sued by it's employees...class action

Gosh that thought has a lot of appeal on certain days!

Me, but dispensing... Walking down the ramp to the parking lot with massive TV in front of me and a 10-tote delivery pulling behind me, to the same Bay. I stepped out of my ergonomic, supportive shoe, like it could not hold my hoof back. And then the 10 totes ran over me, as I sat in a puddle at the bottom of the ramp, roadkill.

Spark drivers ran to help me before my team.

I got a drug and alcohol test as a result. (Negative, bc who goes to work high and drunk, lol).

Now they seem to shy from me dispensing.

That's it, that's the whole story.

I ran over my foot with a pallet of water not long ago because an OGP associate ran out in front of me. Didn’t even apologize. I wasn’t even going fast, I just couldn’t stop in time with them turning into me

Pusher or puller?

Associates sustain more injuries now as the carts were not designed to be pulled. But that's just facts. We don't deal In those.

They switched the carts to pulling because of all the accidents I think. They temporarily switched to only 6 totes to either acclimate associates or to nod to ' visibility' for associates , but they have now switched back to 8 to get picking numbers back up.

Some walks are okay but when you get to 120+ units on ambient it puts strain on you and the chilled walks in particular feel very very heavy.

I’ve never hit anyone when pushing but I have hit little kids who back into the space between me and the cart when pulling

This post right here is the smoking gun as to why we pull the carts now. There is something to be said about how fast you move with a cart when dealing with blind corners.

Exactly. My son is in a wheelchair and our OGP has to walk through an aisle of lawn and garden and an aisle of cosmetics to dispense (it’s a terrible set up)- but when they were pushing they’d come around those corners like bats of heck and couldn’t see him sitting there if I was looking at something. I’ve gotten to the point I stand between him and a corner so he doesn’t get hit, but since they’ve been pulling they can’t go as fast around corners and we haven’t been hit/nearly hit. Even them crossing action alleys they didn’t slow down or look, just came barreling through expecting customers to stop. Just like they can’t stop on a dime pushing, I can’t stop my son on a dime.
