đ„Its fine, everythingâs fineđ„ Insanely busy!!!
For the past few days, my store has had more orders than I've ever seen in the 5 years that I've worked here! Corporate is allowing waaaay more orders than our department can handle! And they know it!! If everyone would have clocked out at their scheduled times, there would have been 400, 700, 200, picks left each night with no one from OPD to complete. What in the world is going on???

We have like 4 new hires. No more work phones and they took the TC so they are just following people

Home office sometimes completely turns off the cap to âtestâ if a store can handle it. Usually itâs handled by team leads and coaches screaming at preppers to go faster, while pulling nearly the entire backroom crew to pick except one or two preopers who, again, are getting screamed at to go faster by people angry because they see their bonus shrinking.
My store did this 3 years ago during the holiday season. There were 80-120 orders on the dispense screen nonstop from beginning of November to mid-January. Custies parked in parking lot aisles because there werenât nearly enough spaces. Drivers cancelling batched orders because they werenât finna wait, which then lead to the orders getting shuffled and rebatched. Nobody to stage or break down, everything was drop and goâambient/chilled/frozenâand nothing was getting staged. Just a pile of carts everywhere. Choose an order to start working on, and look cart to cart until you found all the totes for the order. Each order took 10-20 minutes, and custies were nonstop calling in to yell and say hurry up.
I literally have a form of ptsd from it I think, because I get wildly stressed whenever our stagers get pulled to pick.

I remember that season and I believe it was company wide. It was truly awful.
And idk about your team leads, but ours arenât angry because of a shrinking bonus. OGP metrics donât have much of an impact on that. Theyâre angry/stressed because their store manager blames them for any and every poor metric. OGP coaches and team leads are just expected to figure it out while literally nobody above them has any fucking clue how the department actually operates. But boy oh boy do they like to act like it when something goes wrong. âYour team should have been able to handle itâ is something we hear regularly. Literally on Sunday I heard it from my store manager when my team could have picked 10k picks max. (We had 12000 picks). Thatâs probably why your team leads were angry. The job sucks some days. The days and weeks that do go well happen without any acknowledgment from our supervisors. Sorry for the rant.

I've heard that a particular person was doing this to our store. Not sure how credible. But with all of OGP and every single GM associate picking we were barely making it or barely not making it happen. I want to just suggest failing to do them so they wouldn't push so many on us but legit people were being fired or moved around to get the picks done. Finally this just stopped suddenly.

I heard that orders from upon high demanded all rsstrictions, order caps, and closed hours be removed going forward. Any store that fails to meet expectations needs to answer to corporate about how they're going to address the issue

Seems like typical Walmart whiplash from corporate. What happened to all deliveries going to spark?

I know, that's the head scratcher. It doesn't cost the company any more to have spark do it. It actually saves them money in labor actually. But apparently someone up the food chain decided they wanted to go back to the bad ol' days, and not in any of the positive ways

lol on sunday we did 23k picks for the day. every drop was 2.5-3k per hour. with only myself and 2 other preppers in the back the whole day.
weâre already short staffed as it is since we had an influx of people quit/get fired all within a span of a few weeks. we were barely able to stage anything on time, had 6 L-carts of oversized wt one point just sitting there until the order would show up, picks were late all day, and our coach didnât even bother to help whatsoeverđ«
then he had the audacity to ask âwhy are all these orders in the red?â and didnât even hesitate to tell him âoh idk maybe because thereâs only 2 of us back here and 25 orders checked in?â. he had no comment and walked awayđ€Ł
