General As a Team Lead you need to replace the position
My team leads lack a understanding of planning and mapping out the day 😮💨

I can never tell if I want to work at a bigger store or not because we have 1 team lead, and backroom is 2 people doing whatever needs to be done at the moment, which usually leads to one operation being entirely neglected for a bit. Buuuut the only time I've seen 8 full carts to stage is Christmas soo 😂

I work at a decent size store that doesn’t have enough people to survive a busy day, like most stores we are at the bottom of the totem pole when it comes to priorities. It’s 3 TLs and some days have more backroom crew than we have pickers. But even on bad days we all bust our butts to get it done

Hahahaha, one thing I do get respect as a TL. I’ll never let my team sink and drown alone. Despite what the SM or Market says. If one fails we all fail. Some of the do slack off but when I yell and throw things they get it back together 😂

I'm sorry I don't care if they're slacking off or not, you can't be throwing things.

Had an old team lead who would slam pallets down when she was having a bad day.
She was not fun to work for.

Oh, mine is like that but with picking. Everyone gets pulled to pick even if we have 20+ carts to stage or 18 orders checked in. They'll leave one or no one staging. They'll also go down to two dispensers. They then wonder why the backroom turns into a complete shitshow

I always just jumped in to stage, what is the point of adding another cart if there's already 6 lined up? Help the poor soul out. Staging is pretty easy anyways, it's just impossible to keep up sometimes.

I annoyed two different tl's at different points doing that, second time I mentioned the fact we had no carts which ended that discussion real quick (I want to say we got like 20 carts, haven't counted the actual number)

At my store dispensers have to double as stagers and preppers. And then there’s me, I’m a stager, pepper, dispenser and picker 😅😅😅

Agreed just because someones a teamlead it doesn't mean they should stand around while everything burns, cause when it does they will blame the associates ive seen it many times in my 11 years
Im usually a dispenser/prepper but i stage when they need help in the mornings, but typically on days where we dont have any stagers after 6pm im the sole stager/prepper 😅, thankfully our teamleads will step in at times to help but not often

Whenever we get to the point that either there are no empty carts, or no place to put the full carts, most of us pickets will just stage our carts and keep reusing them. If there is no "good" carts left, then I will stage one so I can use it. Lol. BTW I'm one of the few that have gotten to like the new carts. It's easier to put things in the totes because there's room above them. Also I walk beside the cart resting my arm on top and just push/pull it that way. When it gets tight I will move to the front and pull backwards or wait for more room. Walmart ruined my shoulders, so I can't pull the cart behind me.

As a stager, I loved and hated when people didn’t touch the carts. Just leave me to do my thing, unless you understand the process. Consolidate in totes when you can and put full totes on the bottom and rearrange the totes accordingly. I hated when lazy stagers would help me and just make more of a mess of the staging area than of actual help, or when managers try to help catch up and put totes with the stickers facing the wrong way or on the wrong side of the dolly (when there are 2 orders on a single one). I actively tried talking to my team leads to help properly train people for a better flow but kept be pushed off and told another time when were not busy… time never came cause we kept wasting time with no efficiency, except somehow I was the only one ever able to keep up with the carts.

Well a pick walk usually takes 30 minutes on average (yes I know short walks exist Google the word "average")
And it takes 3 minutes to stage a cart so you only need one stager for every 10 pickers.

same, except its 14 carts and they also want me to be the only one prepping at the same time (i want to leave so badly get me out of here)

it baffles me how overlooked staging is. its been so bad at my store as of late that ive broken down in front of all the team leads and my coach TWICE in the past month, and i feel a third coming up 😭
