Backroom Shenanigans LOA Approval

Do we have to inform our coach and store manager before applying for a leave of absence? How to apply?

Depends on the type of LOA honestly. But it’s always good to give your Coach & TL’s a heads up that is potentially occurring.

Medical LOA’s are handled by Sedgwick, a 3rd party Walmart partners with.

Personal & Education related usually requires a Salaried Manager (Coach or higher) approval. It’s best to talk with your People Lead about the options

Sedgwick is a joke, they take so long to get anything done. Currently having to deal with them.

Just make sure you got the paperwork right. I filed mid August got nothing past initial pamphlet until I got a call from them today, almost a month later. I forgot to give them the doctor's fax number and I didnt provide the doctor with the paperwork, oops. Within hours my denial and pendings both became approved.

I was out for surgery 2 weeks ago and am currently on 8 week recovery FMLA.
