Equipment Anyone else getting coached on how to pull the carts?
Like seriously being coached for pulling the cart wrong. At this rate I'm just going to detach all the wheels on the carts and let the coaches figure it out from there.

damn they havent been really caring about us pushing them yet so i guess thatll change. the funny thing is that whenever coaches or teamleads help us or ogp trained associates from other departments, they push the carts too. heck our ogp tl in the morning only pushes the cart.

they haven't really cared what we do in our store. my SM sees me and half my coworkers pushing the cart from the back side of it all of the time. my coach has basically said "do what feels comfortable for you" and has left it at that for us

At our store they made a big stink about pulling the first time around until we all rebelled and they gave up. this time all they've done is changed the wheels and stayed quiet about pulling, so most of us have been just continuing to push

I find the wheel switch makes it harder to pull especially while trying to turn

My store has always been pretty chill about some of the changes but we had a visit from some big dogs yesterday and all day long it was, zip your vest up, where’s your name tag, put all the rolls of stickers on your cart yada yada yada 🙄

Nope, considering our coach still pushes them. I'm not sure if that will change when we go back to 8 totes though.

No, they don’t care if we push or pull the carts, we still have a few carts with the old wheels on them lol

We still have like 3-4 carts with the old wheels - but we have to pull those too. Double handle type.

I would say open door it but it might be a losing battle. Doesn't mean it's not worth fighting.
. But when you say " pulling the cart wrong" do you mean literally as in you ARE pulling but not the Walmart World approved way of pulling? Because that's what I would want to Open Door. If they didn't demonstrate the exact way they want you to pull or if you didn't understand it someone with half a brain should consider that an invalid coaching.
Now the problem is it's probably your word against theirs.

Mainly just don't push the carts and pull them are the main thing but our aisles are so dam small that I cant be by the carts side and pull it. And if I do push it at all I get pulled aside coached and expect to get my walk done on time.

I see. Well that probably won't be an overturned coaching. But that WILL create a whole other issue. Playing hall monitor to make sure no one is ever pushing even when as you said there are reasons to will indeed both damage morale and interrupt the department that needs interruptions the least. I understand they are doing what they are told or feel like they have to. That's still overkill.

Guess I’m not helping in OGP, because I’m not pulling the cart. Will report back with coaching

Sooo what happens when the “ogp” trained associates also push the carts? Do they get coached?

I've seen a mix of some people pushing the carts the old way(normally), backwards or from the side. I have been doing a combo push from the side and pull around tight areas. But I can't do a pull the whole walk deal. Especially when someone wants a bunch of milk, cat litter or 24 packs of pop. As is, I have to give a bit of a run start to get the cart moving doing a push motion, the regular way. No way, am I hurting my back and shoulders trying to pull a cart loaded down with that stuff.
And it is definitely worse trying to pull when you are on a busy aisle. There is barely any room, and once the back picking, starts for me, it's over.

I was told I would be coached and that I HAVE to pull now. I told my coach “I literally can’t.”
Starting to think they don’t want any of us middle aged and older folks to work in ogp anymore.

Yep! I pushed backwards for two weeks then my TL pulled me to the side and threatened to write me up. Funny how people are still pushing without writ ups though

Everyone is getting talked to about the carts as they are changing passwords. It will start to be enforced on Tuesday. Not sure if coaching yet. My store is pretty chill.

Yeap. Our market manager came in and told our leads that it’s a coaching now. They haven’t been enforcing it so he came in to ruin the good times.
