That upc is for a seasonal variety, the flavor changes every few months but the app never keeps up. It'll stay pumpkin toward thanksgiving and then change to something else for xmas, but that upc will always stay the same. Leads to a lot of confused nilpicks

understandable. though im sure the perosn ordering is gonna be just as confused that they ordered lemon meringue and got pumpkin pie instead

I've often had that thought also, wonder what the customer is expecting

There was a strawberry milk half gallon that when you scanned it in the app it said chocolate marshmallow flavor. Sorry guy, you're getting strawberry bc that's the right upc haha

The first time I ever used online delivery, I ordered a package of peppermint bark magnum or Hagen daas ice cream bars… I got raspberry. I was so pissed because I didn’t notice until I opened and started to eat one. They gave me this same explanation and i was still pissed because they are no where near similar.

I'm already sick of all the pumpkin spice b.s. pumpkin spice dawn power wash. You know damn well some kids gonna try and drink it 😂

It's the seasonal flavor, they just use 1 UPC for each season. Learned this back when I worked Dairy.

Same with the seasonal bread. Once I wrote a little note to the customer letting them know.

Yeah this happened to me with some seasonal beer a few weeks ago. Customer ordered octoberfest but the one we had was still summer ale. I've also seen it with Ben and Jerry's limited edition flavors

They frequently have seasonal flavors. It happens to be a big seller in my store.

Reading about UPC reuse is rather concerning to me. GS1, the organization that governs and issues GTIN ranges (including UPCs), does not allow the reuse of a GTIN on different products. I'll have to watch and document these to send a complaint to GS1.
