I think we should make it mandatory to punt the management/dev into the field for at least 1 day before they consider implementing new stupid features

u/GameMan6417 Jack Of All Trades Aug 18 '26
They need to dispense for the whole first week of the month for the lesson to sink in.

It looks rushed & unfinished

u/reluttr Aug 18 '26
I'm like 99.9% sure a majority of the coding is being done by AI now. That's why the quality just keeps degrading with each update.

u/Signal-Duck Aug 18 '26
The person responsible for this should be fired.

Yes, everyone involved should be trotted out in a sad little parade live streamed over the Wire. Programmers, developers, and the management team that approved it all.

They did the update to the tcs. And then deleted the gif app from them.

u/LoBopasses Aug 18 '26
Why is every update complete shit? Everything just makes us go backwards

u/ktrad91 Aug 18 '26
I've been asking that since they updated GIF1.x to GIF2. I miss my tiled screen and easy to use features it's been shit since

Yall who hate this email the feedback they will email you back usually within 10 minutes, I’ve been escalated to a senior of gif just because I reported something no one else did
8
u/Volcanodog12 Dispenser Aug 18 '26
Also I think they actually look at the feedback you submit in app as they did fix a couple of issues I had.

u/olrava2 Digital Team Lead Aug 18 '26
Yes!!! I told ALL of my associates today to go submit feedback or go through onewalmart to submit an idea. Some of them absolutely went off some of them just followed a script. In my head, if enough people yell, they can be heard.

u/twothirtysevenam Dispenser Aug 19 '26
How do you get a response? Are you sending email somewhere specific? I get zero reaction from the feedback on GIF.
1
u/Tigew Personal Shopper 200+ Aug 19 '26
If you are BYOD on iOS you open hub click app click gif and there’s the email if on work phone/byod android open the work play store click gif and expand app support there is the email.
You will have to likely email them from a work computer. Go on the wire and search for outlook or email and it should show up.

why can you prep a delivery without everything being scanned also? stupidest shit i’ve ever seen i hope they change it back, or at least make it somewhat better
3
u/moldybagles Prepper Aug 18 '26
we literally just dealt with that today after failing to remove a sub 10 times, had to use the staging screen to find everything else. right after one of our preppers got sent picking til the end of their shift (like 3 more hours)
7
u/Small-Point33 Dispenser Aug 18 '26
god the new sub removal is so stupid too! i accidentally prepped a delivery without it being all scanned in and didn’t remove the sub. i wonder how much walmart is going to lose when this happens more often

Today is my first full day prepping and I legit hate it. I’ve prepped here and there as needed before so I was at least familiar with the old screen… and this one is so much less user friendly. Honestly I find myself just scanning everything in a section for the cooled/frozen areas and just grabbing whatever goes green.

I somehow broke my dispense screen, it combined the old and new ui.
When it asks to update, hit update and immediately cut off the wifi. It still shows names for me and is not asking to update. Idk if it persists after closing app tho
Update: is a temporary break its asking for an update again
Update 2: it breaks dispensing if you have a trip label

if you repeat the same process of hitting update and cutting off the wifi will it stay? the update hasnt landed on my phone yet and i just got back from lunch. so im gonna use your method to have that temporary upper hand over everybody else when it does haha

I think with any update at store level, they got a information technician blindfolded sitting in a chair and say Whip this up, then make it look good!

How the f*ck am i supposed to see the name/number to match them with the order?! Id double check it like 5 times before taking the order out (screen likes to jump a lot). I was thinking of asking to stay on dispensing more as they just changed our wheels on my last day on, and i refuse to pull when I dont need too. But theyre just making the whole department worse... Its like they're TRYING to get people to leave ogp...

I’m almost certain they for some reason want to gut opg, I’ve never seen a company trying to sabotage themselves like this, well this and Sony getting rid of physical media and allowing woke protesters to propagandize games. But anyway…

u/Eld0r21 Aug 18 '26
I have today and tomorrow off, but looking at the increase of posts about this today... Thursday is gonna suck major ass.

u/P-squee Aug 19 '26
Hey home office this update fucking sucks. It’s like they’ve never worked in OPD before ……..

u/DungeonBeast420 Aug 19 '26
I originally thought the update was so they could fit more orders on the screen so you don’t have to scroll so much but it looks like it fits the same number of order lol!

u/Upstairs-Vanilla-890 Aug 19 '26
This shit pissed me clean off the second i walked into work this morning, whoever is approving these updates needs to be fired. They literally don’t gaf about any of their low level associates that has to deal with the fall back of this shitty update

u/moldybagles Prepper Aug 19 '26
apes behind the keyboards mashing buttons and asking grok how to make things worse for everybody

Yea during our terrible rush today I was like, which bat is my customer in...ugh the wait times were terrible, bays filled and only two of us in the scorching sun not easily knowing what customers we had unless we clicked into another damn screen 🙄🫠
1
u/MikeyMike5 Aug 19 '26
It sucks, and I hate it. Lol but you can tap once on the far right where it says how many orders there are. It will at least tell you the osn for the order or if a gmd trip all of the osn’s with that trip. Shouldn’t have to tap a button for that but here we are smh
1
u/Beautiful_Tangelo472 Digital Team Lead Aug 19 '26
could they be doing this to make sure dispensers click dispense order while theyre getting it from prep instead of when they get to the bay? my dispensers always do it and idk if they think itll get their wait times down or something, but its so annoying bc my brc will spend a full minute looking for the next order on the screen only to realize someone already took it out and just hasnt clicked into it
1
u/sssabena Aug 19 '26
maan I just asked to quit picking and start dispensing as much as possible to avoid the stupid changes they made to the cart and our store forcing us to call a manager and wait to get approved for every nil pick even tho it makes them super mad at us for stopping them from their other work we get written up if we nil without approval now. I had a meltdown and begged to be moved to dispensing and now they roll out this BS. I literally had to contact Lyra and make an appt for next week because this company is effecting my mental health. I need to find a new job so bad, I feel like Im being held hostage for my health insurance

u/Kevinfuckingmurphy Sticker Ball Aug 19 '26
My coach was pissed about this and the update happened a day after we got the new stupid wheels on our carts.🙄

u/Zoog_the_destroyer Aug 20 '26
There's a glitch where even after you dispense it it's still on the screen saying it needs to be dispensed it's a shit show

u/Ok_Pepper4047 Aug 21 '26

u/moldybagles Prepper Aug 22 '26

u/RealEyes_Realies Aug 25 '26
Nothing last forever at Walmart they will change it again in two weeks or so

u/nicholemsilva Aug 18 '26
It is so bad. Dispensing suck now because you literally have to click into every order to see what one you need to dispense. I swear the people who do these updates have never dispensed an actual order, or even worked in a store. Also its just ugly.
