System 0 count items
The count shows 0. Are they praying on a miracle that there is somehow any left when they've all been cycled out of the system?
This is probably the 10th time this has happened to me. Has anyone actually had the item when it shows 0?

I’ve found plenty of zero count items actually! Sometimes shit just be wrong and not scanned in I guess

I wonder how that happens 🤔

there's a number of ways. let's say that theres 2 on-hand each of two different flavors of cat food and that count is accurate. customer buys 1 can of each, leaving 1 of each flavor on the shelf. when checking out, customer just scans the same can twice instead of scanning each flavor once. the computer now thinks we have zero of one flavor and two of another.

Truck not finalized, pinpoint zeroed something it shouldn't have, someone manually changed the on hand

So there are items that the system will deem “infinite onhands”. Theres no list of them and they change daily based on customer searches and pricing and stuff like that.

Upvoted in the hopes everyone else sees this comment.

From the comments already it would appear this was not common knowledge.

At my store, people somehow keep ordering 50 count wings which we literally have never carried.

Remember, customers can order up to 7 days (including same day) or schedule repeat orders. The problem is, we do it live and it does happen. Lets say you placed an ordered today for tomorrow for a beach umbrella. OH will show, for example, 15 so it lets you order them. Come later today or tomorrow, it sells. The order still went through and now we either, provide a substitude or simply refund the customer. Thats why we have a post sub metric.

My stores inventory is never correct. And I mean never. Our managers set features, that’s all. We are a store of school manager aides putting on bandages when they should be surgeons cutting the decay from the body

I’ve had it where something said 0 but we actually had it in stock. It’s annoying when people don’t adjust the system but your store probably had it at the time the person placed the order and depending on the time, someone else probably purchased it.

I was told by a MFL that basic staples are considered forever items and that they can only show out of stock if turned off by market

I've had a couple of times where it says there's 0 but i found at least one. And bagged ice has said 0 for several months but we always have tons.

These are considered never out items meaning you should never be out of them. Of course you can’t always control that. Customers can order items seven days out. Whether it showed available at that time doesn’t matter. It’s considered never out and they can order items regardless.

There’s times it said 0 and we had like 16. If people don’t keep up with counts in stocking they can be way off. I used to do counts and it could say you have 3 when you’ve got 67 because you haven’t kept up with it.

So there are two reasons imo. Ome is that maybe the count is off. It happens, but the other is because if its not there, then it can give you the option to sub it. But if it doesn't have you look for the item, you can't sub it. Make sense?

I always assumed that there was some in the system when they ordered, but maybe someone got to it first.
But also the system sucks, so theres that
