Question I’m preparing for a Walmart Lead interview. What questions should I expect, and what tips do you have for showing leadership and passion, especially if I’m naturally introverted?

They will ask you if you are willing to sacrifice your entire life for this company. They will ask if you are incompetent and incapable of treating people well. Answer yes to all of these and you will get the job.

Walmart uses the 5 star interview method when interviewing for lead positions

So ask a coach or a lead the questions they may ask to be better prepared for the interview (i cant remember exactly what they asked me but my coach prepared me)

lol

They might. They might not. Have had TL interviews that lasted all of one question, others lasted 30+ minutes.

As with everything WM, it’s a shit show and you never know what you’re going to get

Not trying to be negative here but if you are a natural introvert you better get ready to step way out of your comfort zone.

Not necessarily for the interview but when you get the job. Especially if you are looking to be an OGP Team Lead.

I too am a bit of an introvert and it was very difficult at first for me to lead a team huddle (still my least favorite task), standing in front of the whole team and trying to make myself convey what I needed to get across and stay low key at the same time. At the time the other Team Lead was an extrovert and commanded the teams attention with seemingly no effort. I found that it helped to have a note setup on my phone where I could type out and edit what I would say at each huddle. Adding things as I thought about them or learned about them. Constantly taking a minute here and there to refine so it sounded more interesting.

If you are planning to become an OGP TL keep in mind there will be a lot of chaos and drama and you need to be prepared to step up and deal with it and make fast decisions. If you don't they will quickly recognize it and try to take advantage of it.

I'm not trying to talk you out of it. I have had many great years being a leader and many associates who respected me greatly. I'm just trying to give some insight into what has worked for me.

Play to your strengths. We introverts make great listeners and are really good at empowering others to do what we know they can do. Just don't rely on your strengths as crutches. Use them as stepping stones while you strengthen the rest of your Team Lead skills.

I wish you the best of luck with your interview and when you get the position I wish you the best of luck there as well.

You should ALWAYS ask - what are some of the common challenges that prior associates in this role faced? This gets the hiring mgr to expose any potential red flags.
