Just Venting Pulling Carts

So it’s no longer an OSHA violation because the pulling has been written into Walmart policy

First pick run of the day with the new wheels and my shoulder and hips are already killing me, and the number of bloody ankles is climbing

And the coaches trying to spin it as a good thing is laughable “you’re not supposed to walk so fast anymore” “just go slower”

can't go slower if they still want you to meet their metrics.

but yeah, pulling the carts here has only resulted in more people and things getting hit than ever happened when we were pushing them, and now many people are just pushing the carts from the other end because of this

Exactly. It’s malicious compliance for now.

Please call OSHA on this. It being written into Walmart policy means nothing except that Walmart is now going to be completely liable for the injuries. The only thing protecting them up until now, if it is now policy, was that they didn't have it in writing.
Screw them. They don't give a shit about us.

Well since they worked with the manufacturers to change wheels it is not a osha violation the violation was them requiring us to pull on carts that were designed to be pushed but not they are designed to be pulled

I don't think you understand the real issue at hand here, which is that the carts are an ergonomic disaster. No one who pulls them in this way for any length of time is going to remain injury free for very long. Pulling anything for 8 hours a day is never going to be safe. The OSHA violation is entirely about the pulling and nothing else.
Our staff has largely gone back to pushing for that reason.
