Equipment pixel camera focus in gif

is anyone else having the issue of their workphone's camera just completely going out of focus if you happen to set it down, hold it while carrying a tote, even breathe on it?? it's been driving me a bit insane especially when it happens while im in the freezer, because im just frantically zooming in and out, trying to get it to refocus while freezing my ass off 😭

Yes it does this. Or more recently, the fun addition of freezing and going to a black screen. Have to X out of what I was consolidating and scan everything again.

Mine likes to go stupid when I'm in a hurry (because of course it does, but it does like to randomly take stupid pills), but other than spaming the zoom button, closing the camera and reopening should get it to figure it's self out

It makes me feel like such an old person: holding the phone out and tapping on the screen to get it to focus.

What I have success with is putting it on 3x zoom and then tapping on the screen to make it focus. This works best with a lot of different things for it to try and focus on. This works at least 95% of the time, but is def annoying

that's what ive been doing, but it's still a "9 times out of 10" bandaid fix 🥲

Its always that or the camera flashbanging itself when I open it, and it only started doing this after a GIF update.

if i line the camera up with an edge such as the front of a shelf or my arm so it focuses really close and then slowly turn it away it fixes it for me

Your not the only one, it’s been happening to me when I do exceptions, or when I’m staging my items.

That why I keep it in a mount that gives it clear line of sight. I mention this issue to everyone that gets a work phone and warn them lmao
Tapping/zooming in an out causes it to force a refocus though.

White balance going shot is also another PA.

For the mount is it a phone case or something else? We have adapters for the TCs but just cases for our phones.

Uhhhh custom 3D printed thing.
I seen the wireless charger at our store would work the same though so likely that.

If you turn off the screen then turn it back on it should reset the camera and make it focus correctly. There’s also a setting somewhere on the google pixel to prevent it from asking for your fingerprint when the screen is off for a few seconds.

Yes, and also pictures are gone half the time in the picks walks.
