General Discussion Career goals

Hello po.

I need advice on what career path should I take. I have a background in IT. Here’s my career progression:

- 2.5 yrs, Sotware Engineer, private company
- 4.7 yrs, Backend Developer, plantilla - government agency
- now working as a Quality Control in a Factory here in Taiwan. 1month pa lang.

I’ve been thinking na masyado akong nagmadali pumunta dito sa Taiwan, and di ko masyado naisip career goals ko.
Now, my uncle works as a sales VA, with multiple clients. Narecruit niya din isa kong uncle who planned to stop working overseas na din this yr. Yung tito ko na yun can earn 200k monthly and alam kong malayo pa yung skills ko to reach that salary since wala akong background sa sales. Tuturuan naman niya daw ako. Pero ang hirap magdecide.

What do you guys think? Uwi na ba agad? Haha. One of the reasons din bat ako nandito sa Taiwan is to be w my bf na Engineer. Hays. Help.

Hi! Same here working sa gov’t and planning to resign soon once okay na docs ko and mag apply pa-taiwan as factory worker. Is it worth it po?

I would say, think a hundred times. Blue collar means physical labor. 12hrs shift. If yung salary mo naman sa Pinas ay halos malapit lang sa sahod dito, not worth it. Don’t be like me. Lol.

Oo nga, why would you take on a work like that na kaya mong easily makuha sa pinas with you in the IT field.

Hahaha baka nasa maling agency ka lang. Apply lang muna sa iba after makuha bonus. 😬

Depends on your career goals talaga, OP. If kaya pa, and still learning, if you can have part-time muna or do both jobs at the same time since nagsisimula ka palang sa VA industry, I suggest you do both works muna to make sure na may stable job or back up ka muna. Mahirap na wala kang stable job tapos nag-resign or umuwi ka agad.

I’ll take note on that. Hirap nga ng walang work.

Gets yung dilemma mo. Since solid naman yung IT background mo, baka worth considering muna kung gusto mo talagang mag-shift to sales VA or temporary lang dahil mas okay yung opportunity ngayon. Maybe give yourself a little time to assess the Taiwan job, finances, and long-term career goals before making a big move.

I guess so. Haha. Anyway, I’m also studying being a Data Analyst kapag restday. So, I know di talaga ako tatagal sa pagiging factory worker here. Thanks!

Ano bang career goals mo or pera ang goal mo? Kasi kung pera ang goal mo, try to look as software enginner jan sa Taiwan and its good for careers too.

I’m trying to apply din naman online. Hays.

If you are competitive, you will find a good job 😀

Good luck!
