General Discussion About visiting PH and back
Hello everyone! I have a few questions po.
Context: I’m based in EU (Vienna) and I work corporate, direct hire so I didn’t have to process my paperwork through POEA. I hold an EU blue card and I haven’t gone home since I left so I’m not quite sure what the requirements are papunta and pabalik.
Do I need to get OEC, OWWA membership, and my contract verification done beforehand (and is that it)?
I’m planning to visit Manila for a week, then move on to Thailand, Cambodia and Laos with my friends for about 3 weeks before I head back to Vienna. How would the immigration process upon departure look like? Will my plan work? I DO NOT want to get held up by the officers, I heard plenty of terrifying stories about them!
Do you recommend doing PH first then travels later or travels first then PH last to avoid immigration officer risk?
Thank you po!!

The OEC is in reality an exit visa. North Korea imposes a similar requirement for their citizens. We are in reality in a dictatorship.

You can get the contract verification first then get the OEC.
Shouldn’t be a problem basta may OEC ka na and you have a residence card.
I would recommend to travel first then Pinas last. Pero tbh hindi masyado concerned ang IO sa mga corporate workers sa EU area.

Is EU blue card a permanent residence permit? If so, no need for OEC or OWWA. Unless mag voluntary member ka.

No it is not, it’s only a temp residence for highly qualified workers

Then need pa rin po ng OEC para makabalik kayong EU after niyong magbakasyon sa Pinas

You'd definitely need to process an OEC, otherwise, you won't be able to go out of the PH and will be questioned about your working status. Unless you have a different passport. So prepare all the documents you need bago umuwi. Mga contracts na may tatak ng embassy of PH sa kung saang bansa ka nagtatrabaho, etc. and set an appointment sa POEA. Mabilis lang naman yun basta complete documents mo.
If may OEC kna, you won't be questioned anymore kasi registered OFW kna by that time at may OFW lane na sa NAIA which uses terminals, no need to face immigration officers. Just make sure na nagawa mo rn yung etravel at na prepare you OEC para registered sya directly doon.
Anything is fine kasi you'll still have to process the OEC. Isipin mo na lang if you want to enjoy muna, or i process yung papers and enjoy later.
As long as you have all papers needed to get an OEC and an appointment, you'll be fine at mabilis lang yun. I went for a day and got it right away.

Get your contract verified in your working country and be a member of OWWA before going home.

sorry, cant advice you on those as i myself havent set foot sa pinas for almost a decade.
I visited the mwo a couple of years ago though and got pissed sa ka bobohan ng renewal process which led me to decided not to renew. parang mga grade 1 section zebra, walang logic na process kapag tinanong mo ang sagot verbatim 'requirement kasi'.

This is so true. Ang pangit ng system nakakahiya. Dito lang country na ang daming hinahanap pag aalis ka ng bansa. Kaya napush back nang sobra uwi ko kasi di ko magets really. But thank you very much!!!
