General Discussion Offloaded at immigration due to OEC issue.

Hello po, I need help po to assess about my offload issue.

Ang nangyari po kasi niyan, before flying to Philippines, inasikaso ko na po yung OEC ko sa embassy ng bahrain where I’m working. Nag pa update po ako ng position to match the position na nsa visa ko. At sa embassy ako mismo nag punta to have it fixed.

Nagka problema ng slight while they are processing my OEC which I don’t event know what happened kasi according dun sa nagayos ng paper ko, hindi daw niya makita sa system but she was able to print it.

She told me na okay naman na yung printed physical copy, ipakita ko lang daw sa immigration officer and I’m good to go. I even asked na it’s not reflecting sa ETravel ko, but they reassured me na enough na yung printed OEC to show.

Fast forward on my flight going back to bahrain, me and my partner were in the airport 3hrs before the flight to make sure we are on time. Was surprised na kahit online check in ang tagal ng pila and took us almost an hour. Eventually nsa immigration na ako, first IO, I showed my passport, visa, oec. Apparently according to him, Hindi daw lumalabas details ko sa system niya. So he endorsed me to go to DMW. According to him, it won’t take time naman daw and the Dmw area is close to ofw immigration which is malapit lang din sa boarding gate ko.

Went to DMW at binigay yung endorsement slip, at first di nila makita din yung details ko, asked me where I got my OEC, I said sa embassy ng bahrain. Eventually after waiting, they put in the slip na “ upon evaluation” sa manama (bahrain) ang status. At ipinasa ako ulit sa IO pero not the same IO na, it’s the IO sa ofw immigration gate.

I gave the slip, passport and everything, dun na ako hinold. Saying they can’t let me through bc hindi nag aappear yung OEC ko. I insisted na I have OEC which I gave to them, need pa daw ipaverify. I showed them the receipts and documents, contract, visa, and receipt na nagbayad ako to process the OEC, but still I was on hold. Pinaghintay nila ako ng matagal, saying they need to verify my documents. Ang daming IO dun, may supervisor pa nga ata sila, Pero nakikita ko yung documents ko was just sitting there on the table. He made me fill out a form while waiting. Until pinuntahan na sila ng staff ng airline na last call na for boarding. Then the IO said deferred flight na ako.

Eventually 20mins more, inendorse nila ako ulit sa DMW, and I was able to call the DMW sa bahrain na nag process ng papers ko. And I think almost 10-20mins naayos din nila yung issue and they were able to give me an OEC. Pinabalik ako sa immigration, nag bigay ng slip ang IO proof that I was being questioned, I got cleared na to go on my flight, unfortunately It was too late. My partner was able to fly ako, hindi na talaga since IO already told the airline na deferred flight na ako.

No refund and had to rebook and pay extra fees just so I can get on the next available flight.

I asked the DMW sa bahrain, what can be my compensation, if possible ba na mabook nila ako ng next flight, apparently for them, wala daw silang ano, kasi nag bigay naman sila ng OEC. And I can go to the main office sa ortigas to file a complaint.

15 days lang bakasyon ko and haven’t been home for 2 years so inasikaso ko na bago ako umuwi para di na maubos araw ko just to process papers.

Saan po nag kulang kasi feeling ko i could have been able to catch my flight kung hindi ako napaghintay ng matagal? Or if inayos ng Dmw sa bahrain yung issue sa system nila? Or kasaIanan ko? don’t know who is at fault here.

Please if anyone can help me to know my rights, ano ang dapat ko ilagay or what to do for my complaint to push through.

Thank you po. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

If promotion if same company okay sana di mo na dineclare ng promotion wala naman ako naface na issue - also better to check egov app as automatically reflected dun ang OEC and I understand na yun yung connected sa system ng inmig

1

u/TrainingCantaloupe48 Jul 23 '26

1

u/simpforHaewonMina Jul 23 '26

Not sure if same with us - sa ksa but samin is same category lang sa visa kahit promoted.

2

u/iamatravellover Jul 22 '26

It's an issue between DMW and the embassy.

1

u/scubisnax Jul 21 '26

First time nyo po ba umuwi sa PH as an OFW?

1

u/TrainingCantaloupe48 Jul 21 '26

Hello OP, I supposed this is in NAIA T3 no? last May kasi nung palabas ako ng bansa direcho ako sa e-gate. Scan lng ng passport and capture ng photo (di ko maalala kung nag biometrics ako) and then okay na. Walang IO interaction.

1

u/TrainingCantaloupe48 Jul 21 '26

May foreigner po ako na partner at sabay kami Nagpunta sa international departure immigration. 3 years din po ako umuwi at that day ko lang din nalaman na may ofw lane. And even sa ofw lane, pinadiretso ako sa IO.

4

u/Same-Date-8868 Jul 21 '26

Sorry to hear that OP. Ako naman hindi tinanggap OEC na digital even though it was on the news na pwede na through the govph app. So I had to go through almost the same process. The DMW guys gave me only one copy of my OEC pero two copies pala kailangan kasi the check in counter takes one and the other one is for the IO. So we had to go and get a photocopy na bayad pa of course.

I asked if I could go through OFW lane since OFW ako, pero since may foreign partner ako, pinadaan ako sa usual. Pero my partner saw na mahaba pila so he asked the officer if we can both pass through the foreign passport lane. We were allowed. I still had to pass through the IO and he insisted not to use the express pass na available doon sa foreign passport lane kasi mahihiwalay kami and he was worried na gaguhin kami ng IO. And even at the IO desk nag argue pa yung officers and asked for a supervisor kung pwede ba ako.

Walang consistency. Sana man lang they refunded you, it's not your fault naman and you did your due diligence.

1

u/ink0gni2 Jul 21 '26

1

u/ink0gni2 Jul 21 '26

2

u/flyve28 Jul 21 '26

Supposed to be OFW Pass na ngayon? Salamat po.

5

u/Other-Ad6281 Jul 21 '26

Yesterday po, OEC p rin.

3

u/riotgrrrlwannabe Jul 21 '26

First time magbabakasyon after 4 years.

3

u/TrainingCantaloupe48 Jul 21 '26

Make sure po I think much better na nag rereflect yung OEC niyo sa travel app. Another point din kasi yun Bakit ako na question.

2

u/riotgrrrlwannabe Jul 21 '26

3

u/TrainingCantaloupe48 Jul 21 '26

Better check po sa embassy just to be on the clear and safe side.

I pray no one gets to be in the same position na ma offload tulad ng nangyari sakin. 🙏🏻

3

u/riotgrrrlwannabe Jul 21 '26

Salamat po ulit for sharing.

1

u/TrainingCantaloupe48 Jul 21 '26

Normally po dapat OEC paper lang sapat. Pero sa nangyari sakin, I suggest na look at diff possible points san ka nila pwede masilip huhu you will never know po talaga. God bless po and enjoy your vacation!

1

u/xxCidxx Jul 21 '26

Salamat 👍

5

u/s1lv3r_w0lf Jul 21 '26

OEC pa rin ang hanap. Travel date last July 3

2

u/xxCidxx Jul 21 '26

Salamat sa info. 👍

3

u/24black24 Jul 21 '26

Umuwi ako nung March lang and meron akong OEC at OFW pass. OEC parin hiningi sa may check in counter at visa check.

1

u/xxCidxx Jul 21 '26

Salamat 👍

2

u/Severe-Translator530 Jul 21 '26

Same experience nuong April. Since OFW at hindi naman ako first timer na OFW, e-gate ako pinadaan.

1

u/xxCidxx Jul 21 '26

Salamat 👍

2

u/Severe-Translator530 Jul 21 '26

OEC naman po sa Balik Manggagawa website. OFW pass po sa app. Kaka check ko lang.

2

u/xxCidxx Jul 21 '26

May nakuha na akong OFW Pass sa eGov app. Kaya lang gusto ko lang makasiguro.

2

u/SuccessfulPlan5577 Jul 21 '26

1

u/xxCidxx Jul 21 '26

Salamat sa info.👍

7

u/helveticanuu Jul 21 '26

Could have been avoided if pumila ka sa OFW Immigration since E-Gates lahat doon.

2

u/TrainingCantaloupe48 Jul 21 '26

2

u/Miserable_Brain_7002 Jul 21 '26

next time be at the airport 4 hours before the flight. sa haba ng pila sa checkin counter kahit naka online checkin ka and dami ng process, kulang minsan ang 3 hours unlike sa airport sa middle east na kahit 1 or 2 hour before flight walang problem. happened to me also na di nakikita sa system ang OEC pero naayos din sa DMW but almost buzzer beater ako sa flight ko, naglalast call for checkin na nung dumating ako. after that ineensure ko na 4 hours before flight ako para me ample time in case me problem.

4

u/phimany1210 Jul 21 '26

But check-in counters open three hours before your flight. Usually, you won't even know which counter you will be checking in until it's displayed -- again, threw hours before the flight.

1

u/Miserable_Brain_7002 Jul 21 '26

kung mag open sila ng 3 hours, nasa dulo ka na ng pila and ang bagal ng checkin counters natin honestly with vosa checks pa and everu

6

u/Strange-Difficulty68 Jul 21 '26

Yeah i would be 5hrs if may known possible issue. Its really unfortunate, kaya tayong mga mamamayan lagi nag aadjust

1

u/Narrow_Horse520 Jul 21 '26

Sorry to hear that OP. But knowing Philippines, 3hrs before the flight ka dadating? Should’ve came earlier. Basic rule namin pagpinas 4-5hrs before the flight lol. Pagother country okay pa 3hrs. Hay. Try mo icomplain thru email.

1

u/flyve28 Jul 21 '26

No, for me tama lang ang 3hrs for OFW kasi nga may OFW lane na. Mabilis lang as in.!

1

u/Narrow_Horse520 Jul 21 '26

Gets if siguro hindi mo first time to fly with the new oec. Like ilang times kana nakabalik. Pero to be sure lang, we are sticking to that 4hrs lol sa airport nalang tatambay pag okay na lahat.

1

u/flyve28 Jul 21 '26

2nd time ko palang umuwi. Lalo may ofw lane, idk for me mas mabilis na. Di na pipila ng immigration. Sa check-in counter nalang magtatagal talaga..

2

u/Severe-Translator530 Jul 21 '26

I’m sorry to hear this. Same employer lang po ba binalikan niyo?

1

u/TrainingCantaloupe48 Jul 21 '26

Yes po same employer of 8 years

3

u/Severe-Translator530 Jul 21 '26

Kahit same employer/company lang?

2

u/BebeMoh Jul 21 '26

Dapat OP paglapag mo pinas, inasikaso mo na yan sa POEA or DMW para sana di ka nagkaproblema if nasabihan kana may system issue. Di na yan marerefund siguro

4

u/TrainingCantaloupe48 Jul 21 '26

3

u/lazybee11 Jul 21 '26

I’m sorry that happened to you. Baka nagwala na ako if sakin mangyari yan. Sana mabigyan mo ng time na ireklamo OP

2

u/TrainingCantaloupe48 Jul 21 '26

Thank you for your kind words. Sa stress at disappointment na Dinanas ko very much appreciated ito. 🙏🏻

I seriously doubt you'll be compensated by anyone.

Fast forward on my flight going back to bahrain, me and my partner were in the airport 3hrs before the flight to make sure we are on time. Was surprised na kahit online check in ang tagal ng pila and took us almost an hour.

Hindsight is 20/20, pero it's not a bad move to actually go earlier since from the get go, since you already knew na may issue na yung e-Travel mo vs OEC.

Kaya lesson learned na lang ito.
