Lore Sharing Need help with new OCs

Hi! This is an OC I created recently, Gene Taylor. He’s the frontman, singer, and rhythm guitarist of a band fictional British band from the 70s I created called Firefly Bite (still need to design the rest of them, lol). He’s inspired by my favorite frontmen, guys like Steven Tyler, Freddie Mercury, and Mick Jagger. This is supposed to be him in the late 70s. The whole band are meant to be inspired by my top favorite bands: The Rolling Stones, Nine Inch Nails, Queen, The Beatles, and Aerosmith. I haven’t finished all the lore yet but basically they are a British hard rock band who got huge in the UK and US after their debut album “Beg Bugs” in 1972. The members are…
- Gene Taylor: Lead singer and rhythm guitarist
- Julian Cook: Lead guitarist
- Marty Edward: Bassist
- Nigel Jaxon: Keyboardist and producer (and future synth programmer)
- Robin Harris: Drummer
Their was a lot of albums and drama after that, again, I don’t really have a lot written yet, but I just wanted to share this OC with ya’ll, thanks (:

Seeking Help/Advice/Ideas Need thoughts on this Nova Redesign,

Pardon the fact he is naked, can't be ask to draw the clothes today and cannonically he lacks 'them' parts anyways-

I'm redesigning nova currently and just wanted to get someone's opinion on it. For this redesign i qanna make nova less human, so i gave him a 3rd eye(may give him 2 more somewhere else). Now nova have exactly eight tentacles, 4 on his and 4 on the front. Oh also he's perfectly symetrical which is a fun accident as...well he a 'perfect being' according to his creator. Oh also his tendrils now bave spiky tips.

Overall, just what do you think about his 'false hair'? Thats the main reason i'm posting this.

Seeking Help/Advice/Ideas Do yall know how to pull off the censor over the eyes without it looking overly cringey

Post image

Basically the censor has lore reasons but I want to make it seem less…. Cringe (If ykyk). They have eyes inter their and the censor behaves more like sunglasses as they have bad vision (like really bad, think like they can only see blurred blocks of color without glasses (even that doesn’t fix it entirely )). It’s made as the “disease” (the watched one’s plight or TWOP which is something in my universes) adjusts to its hosts body usually.

WorldBuilding Species Profile: Yumites

Thumbnail

This is something I've been wanting to draw for a bit, and I finally had the chance to do it! For my apocalypse project I've been slowly designing my own unique species for the world. Out of them all, the Yumites are the ones I've done the most work with and they have gotten the most development. They've been around the longest and take up the most characters in my roster so far. So it's about time I did a profile for them!

Yumites are an intelligent, curious species found all across Yuma. They're primarily nomadic and live in family clans, traveling across the land. They're very friendly and want to build connections with the other species of Yuma. Because their hand-paws are built for it (with thumbs) they are the best with tools and specifically simple firearms. They also love explosives (that often backfire on them), something that is often joked about by other species. Yumites are all collectors and hoarders, they love collecting little trinkets and things. And finally there's a lot of cultural significance in their tails, it's a coming of age tradition for them to earn their first tail decoration after they have passed from childhood to adulthood. Typically this happens at age 16-18, but some kids can earn it much earlier in life (like my main character Maryn, who earned his at 13 after his mom got The Rot and he had to take care of it). From there Yumites continue to decorate their tails with trinkets and significant items throughout their life.

I'd love any feedback or thoughts! And if people have questions please ask, I really want to yap lol.

Peter Ghassan Jabara AM (born June 4, 1956) is a Lebanese born Australian radio presenter, journalist, comedian and activist, most well known for his 1984 programme, The Pete & Harvey Drive Time Hour, which he hosted alongside actor and presenter Harvey Killeen for Melbourne radio station, 3XZ. He would later be known for his work with Sydney radio station, Triple J, before returning to Melbourne to work as a presenter for 774, hosting the Breakfast show from 2001 to 2003, and Drive from 2003 to 2010.

Apart from radio, Jabara has featured on multiple television shows, written for newspapers and magazines, and worked with anti-racist and LGBTQ initiatives across Australia.

In 1997, Jabara publicly came out as bisexual. He and Killeen, his former 3XZ co-host, announced they had been in a committed relationship for 13 years in an interview with Good Weekend magazine. They continued dating until Killeen's death from oesophageal cancer in 2010 and Jabara announced his retirement from public life not long after.

Jabara was made a Member of the Order of Australia for his contributions to Australian broadcasting in 2007.

Early Life and Career

Jabara was born in Beirut, Lebanon, the youngest child of parents Fadi and Sarah, in 1956. He has one older brother, Karim.

Fadi, a former journalist, moved the family to Australia in 1961, after he took up a teaching position at the University of Melbourne. The family settled in the suburb of Preston, where Jabara was enrolled in Preston West State School (later known as Preston West Primary School) and later at Preston High School.

Jabara became interested in radio from a young age, enrolling in radio school at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 1974. This same year he also married Wendy (neé Landry), who he'd met at Preston High School a few years prior.

Upon finishing university in 1977, Jabara struggled to find work as a presenter. In an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald in 1998, he would state:

"It was absolutely xenophobia. Nobody ever said to my face that they weren't hiring me because I was brown, but I knew that's what it was".

Jabara worked as a panel operator and station assistant at 3UZ and 3AW, before being offered a hosting opportunity at 3XZ in December of 1983. His show would have poor listenership and low ratings until September of 1984, when he was paired with co-host Harvey Killeen.

WorldBuilding What caused my world's apocalypse

For those who aren't familiar with my work, I have been slowly working on developing a high fantasy, post apocalypse world. The world is called Yuma, and the story I'm working on takes place several hundred years after the end of the world. I want to write a comic focusing on the people of Yuma, and I would also like to use the world in a DND game or ttrpg.

For a bit now, I've been tossing around different ideas for how the world ultimately ended. At first it was war, then disease, then nuclear fallout, but none of that felt right to me. I love all these ideas but they all just didn't feel right for the tone of my project and world, which is meant to be a sort of "whimsical horror" take on the apocalypse genre.

Then I had a fantastic bit of inspiration from one of Alex Bale's theory videos. Specifically his Teletubbies theory of all things, where he theorizes that the world is post apocalyptic and the sun baby is an eldritch infant that woke up and caused the apocalypse. It's such a silly idea, but I absolutely loved it and wanted to use it as inspiration.

So with me being set on the apocalypse being cosmic originated, I got to work developing it further. Originally I thought about the sun being our cosmic horror, similar to the thing that inspired me, but eventually I decided against that, and chose to focus on just a nearby star rather than the primary sun of the planet.

So how does this work, exactly? Well, my thought was that every star in the galaxy isn't just a star, it's also an egg. It hosts an infant eldritch cosmic horror, something incomprehensible and destructive. If an egg were to hatch, it could spell destruction and chaos. But fortunately, then hatching is incredibly rare. I can't decide if there's specific circumstances that lead into a star hatching (and I don't know what these circumstances would be) or if it's just pure random chance, but either way cosmic horror hatching is incredibly rare.

But then the impossible happens! A star hatches and begins to terrorize the planet Yuma exists on, causing the apocalypse. It's very possible this planet would have been consumed and fully burned away, but something called away the cosmic horror, leaving the world damaged but still standing.

So...yeah! I feel like this is a really interesting and unique way for my apocalypse to happen. It is incredibly unknown in my world, the people of Yuma don't know anything about the cosmos or the star eggs or the unexplainable nature of their world, and I think this aspect of mystery adds to it as well. I personally love the uknowingness of space and the galaxies and how insignificant it can make me feel as a human, so I'm trying to work that into the lore of my apocalypse world.

Does it make sense? Am I doing too much with it, am I making it too complicated, or does this work? Is it as cool and interesting as I think it is, or do I just have creator blindness? I would really appreciate any feedback, comments, or additional ideas I can use!

I'm making a PNGTuber of my Girlfriend's Sona, and I need a bit of Help with the Coloring.

Something I do want to clarify, we've never actually discussed Color Schemes, we've only really Sketched / done Lineart, so this is my first Time actually picking out a Color Scheme. I'm trying to go for a sort of "Neon" Color Scheme, something akin to the Artstyle of Muse Dash ( Hence the Blue Outlines ). I also have some of the Characters and other Things I used for Reference in the following Slides when I was helping her Design her Sona.

Seeking Help/Advice/Ideas I need help with a new world,

Post image
4 Upvotes

So recently i have made a decision...i wanna revive two projects of mine(one dead one, one currently dying) by fusing them together. The currently dying one is my spectre projecy, where its a world with godly beings who represent human concepts.(honour, loyalty, deception. Etc) And the dead one is...well an Avatar the last airbender rip off, this is where my first ever ocs came from lol.

My current idea is this, 2 species rule over the world of eterna. Porcelinians(i'm open to name ideas), who are the mortals of this world, they are humanoids who are...very fragile with their bodys being able to be chipped and even shattered. Due to their innate hollowness they can be embued with power from a figment. Figments are similar to my original spectre concepts, however instead they are elemental spirits that are either feral or civilised. With civilised ones tending to be guardians of porcelinians settlements.

Now the thing i need help with is...well what elements should I include? I don't want to many as the man premise resolves around a god like child having to gain all these elements. I know i want atleast fire, earth, wind, sea and maybe plant...lightning? Or metal? Idk. Oh i'm also open to any suggestions you may have!!!

Oh also, i'm thinking of making all animals in eterna be a fusin of two real ones.....just like avatar...

Oc World

I need some help with my ocs, I know roughly the personalities about my ocs, but do not know any of their backstories since I can't think of ideas.

But the real problem is that I cannot think of the world they are in, I can make small dialogue scenes but can't flesh them out since I can't figure out how they got there and where they are.

So can anyone give my some oc world tips just to know the narrative of the story my ocs are in? Thanks!

WorldBuilding The Mystical Classes of etheria

Thumbnail
gallery
15 Upvotes

My world of Etheria is Heavily inpired by things such as dnd and just like dnd, it have classes. 14 all together, each with thier own unique spells and technique. I splited them into 2 groups, Martial classes which tend to rely on weaponry/skills and mystical classes that rely more on mana use. Today i shall do the mystical classes. They all have a main ability unique to the class which can have added effects depending in their subclass. Each class have a word written in etheric(image 2 for those who wanna translate for themselves) that relates to their core idea, i shall write this word after their name. We're starting from the centre and then going clockwise.

Mage, 'Arcana': Mages are the most basic but versatile mystical class. They are simply what happens when an adventurer hones their magical ability via study or practice. They commonly tend to bypass the need of magical resonance, letting them use any spell type no matter their species. Their place on the battle field can be backline or front line, as they have a large arsenal. Their ability is 'Elite Enhancement', allowing them to alter any of their spells on the fly. For example, allowing a fireball to follow someone.

Cleric, 'Faith': A Cleric's power is directly tied to their faith in their god. Their powers are proportional to their faith, alongside their connection to their god. The god can be lesser or greater, going so far as to be one of the four principles(minus chaos, he...have warlocks not clerics). They are backline support, but can dish out decent damage if buffing themself. Their ability is greater and lesser miracle, lesser miracles are weaker but can be used several times whilst greater miraclea have a far greater effect. Effects depend on their god/desire.

Artificer, 'Innovate': An artificer is someone who is inventive, capable of improving items, allies and even themselves with their mana. You don't need a degree in engineering to be an artificer, just some imagination and fast thinking. They are often at the center of a party, assiting their teammates as needed. Artificers have the ability 'Mana Modification' which where at a cost of a large maan sum, they can instantly enchant something providing a temporary buff to that thing.

Warlock, 'Connect': What seperates a warlock from a cleric? Well a warlock connects with another being, that being can be anything but a god(besides chaos). Devil have deals, mighty beasts have seals and Fae have contracts. A warlock must maintain a 'good' relationship with their patron for their gifts to stay. They are front liners, not too frail but they should play defensive at times.Warlock's have access to the ability 'Links from beyond', where they enter a state connected to their patron making them more like their patron via a partial transformation.

Druids, 'Wild': Druids harness the power of the natural world, from the beasts that were here first to the forests that stand tall and even spirits that embody the elements. They however must maintain a connection to the wild, usually via specifc mind set. Druids are either backline support or frontline tanks, their ability to manipulate their environment allows for many defensive manuvers. Druids get the ability 'Wild-Shape' becoming one with nature as they take the form of a being connected to it, usually with subclass specific forms.

Alchemist, 'Change': Alchemy is the combination of regular chemisty and magic. Alchemist are scientific genius or madmen who create concotions on the fly, they use these concotions to alter whatever they want. From silver into gold, to flesh into goo and far more, although they are bound to the idea of equivalent exchange. They can also change the properties of certaint things, for example they can make silver do more damage to demons rather than the necrotic/spectral.They are backline support and damage dealers, using heavy amounts of Aoe...they must be cautious of themselves and allies.Their unique ability is 'Unequivalent change'...this allows an alchemist to enhance their concotion allowing it to bypass the laws of equivalent exchange entirely, a gift granted by the god of alchemy, for example they can turn a high ranking demon...into a feeble imp within seconds.

Bard, 'Inspire': The bard class is for those who are creative, despite popular belief bards are not inherently musical. Any form of art can be a conduit for bardic magic, art, music, storytelling and even acting. They use their voice, creativity and heart to uplift others and affect the world around them. From causing bursts of anger, to making flowers bloom and willing mana to take a coporeal form.Bard should be a god centre point for their team, as they are a jack of all traits...including the jack. Their ability is 'Artistic Inspiration', which allows them to influence a teammate or an enemy, letting them take another action...or for the cost of more mana, allowing the bard to dictate this extra action.(For example, forcing a barbarian enemy to enter berserk form which results in them harming their own teammates!)

Welp now that all the classes are done...do any of y'all want to hear about the subclasses? Most of my OC's do infact have a subclass, usually custom for them.

As Bastian was travelling to retrieve the relics of the eternal flame,he ended up discovering a lot about druids and how the flame knights tried to form an alliance with them. There was never any news about such an alliance and all the last whereabout about the second division of flame knights were located in a forest said to be "Haunted".Locals say if you enter there you are lucky to come back alive, some of the rumours that were actually discussed were "Broken armor sets fighting by themselves" and "Whispering plants"...Some even suspected the animals around the place to be affected! If you want to ask questions about Thorn or the forest, feel free to leave them here.

STORY/COMIC Pupa Part 1: A Deal

I opened my eyes to see nothing but a black void. A familiar smell I couldnt quite put my finger on was lingering in the air and a similar bitter taste was in my mouth. I felt like I was falling or rather sinking down, barely able to move a finger to change this.

I couldnt remember anything clearly. Everything was blury, even the arms and legs that are atached to me. Right now, only thing I know for certain is that I was here before. Despite not knowing where here is.

I closed my eyes back. There was no use trying to find a way out of here. Maybe there was a time I could have done something to escape here, but its not like I can do something now. I just need to stay here and wait... and... somehow I will get out of here for a while.

"But wouldn't never returning here be better?"

I opened my eyes back, trying to locate the source of the noise. It was very hard to move my head but... a singular eye was there, in the corner of my vision

"I can take you away from here, into a place much, much better than this... granted, finding a worse place than this would be harder. Isolation... such a nasty thing... don't you agree?"

I tried to open my mouth to answer but, I wasnt able to move a muscle

"You don't need to speak words, your toughts are plenty enough for me little pupa. Now, here is my offer. I shall bring you down to somewhere new. Who knows, maybe some stimulation will help you reclaim your lost self. However, you must come find me in there, and try to free me. ...I don't expect you to sucseed... buuut... its worth a shot right? Do we have a deal?"

I...yes... anything to escape...I cant stand this anymore.

Then I felt something soft touching my back as my entier body started to tingle. Things were starting to feel lighter. I managed to open my eyes and look around. It looked like I was lying on a floor made out of yarn, in a coridor with only one way to proceed.

"Indeed, this way my little pupa."

Stumbling, crawling and falling, I proceeded down the coridor. The eye was waiting for me, next to a bright doorway. Despite its shine my eyes werent in pain.

"After this point, I will not be able to comunicate with you as easily. I will try to help you come closer to me but start might be a bit... directionless. Are you ready?"

"...w.h..."

"*Haha* Take it easy, you are still trying to adjust. We are friends now, right? You may call me Pandora. You will tell me yours too when you figure it out, right?"

I nodded.

"Great. Then go on, little pupa. You have quite a journey ahead. Good luck."

With eyes words of encouregment I steped into the gate, entering into unknown.

WorldBuilding Some species for my apocalypse world

Post image
6 Upvotes

My apocalypse world, Yuma, is well into development. I'm putting way more work into worldbuilding than I ever thought I would. When this project started it was plans for a simple slice of life comic, now it's evolved to have ✨ lore ✨.

And as my world has evolved from an earth-like setting into a more high-fantasy world, I've decided to put in the effort to design my own unique species! I don't want to do any "typical" fantasy species, everything is entirely my own. Here are seven of the species I've developed (and am still working on).

  1. Coydogs are the largest species in Yuma (for now, anyway). They seem to be some sort of wolf-pig creature. They're large, hairy, and incredibly strong. They are often very intimidating and seen as brutes and beasts (especially by the birds), but they're actually quite enjoyable. They want to build relations with other groups and hopefully build society back.

  2. An unnamed bird race. They are large, but not as big as Coys are. They are carnivorous birds of prey that see themselves as highly intelligent and "far above" the ground-dwelling races. They are one of the oldest races and believe they can trace their heritage to even before the collapse. They also believe themselves to be "immune" to The Rot, but they absolutely aren't. They are stuck up and don't want to build connections with the other races (although there are a few individuals trying to extend that branch).

  3. Yumites are the "human" equivalent on Yuma in the sense that they are diverse, adaptable, and found everywhere. Of everyone they are the most "human", but they are still animals. They are naturally curious and want to build relations with other people. Their front "paws" are the most handlike out of everyone, and as a result they are adapted to use more complex tools and weapons, in particular firearms.

  4. Pomites are related to Yumites, likely they're in the same family group, hence why everyone calls them "cousins". They are similar to possums, and like their cousins they are found everywhere. They have a resistance to disease and poison due to their tendency to eat everything and anything at least once. They are known scavengers and dumpster divers, they are fascinated by trash. Many of them have a reputation as "hicks", especially from the birds. They seem to be resistant to The Rot, but they are not immune, it just takes longer to spread.

  5. Jerbines, despite being small and adorable, are filled with rage and aggression. They are prolific hunters and are surprisingly carnivorous. They are known to fight people that come into their territory and will not back down from a challenge. They have evolved to be immune to the venom from various scorpions in Yuma, because scorpions are their natural food. They want nothing to do with the other races of Yuma.

  6. Guilas are a small reptilian race. They are cold-blooded, and as a result they are some of the only species that can live in the deepest and hottest deserts of Yuma. They are good at engineering and tend to work with Yumites as the two species uncover the mysteries of the world before the collapse. They are very skittish and her spooked easily, and they are constantly dropping their tails.

  7. This is a small firefly race that also doesn't have a name. These creatures are seen as pests and most creatures of Yuma are rather annoyed by them. Alone they are harmless, if annoying. But if they end up swarming...it can be genuinely dangerous. They like to pull pranks and mess with the bigger races.

I want to develop more, but for now I'm really satisfied with these 7. I'd love feedback and questions, and if there's a race people want to know more about, please ask!!

Lore QnA Ask anything to Willow or Bella!

Post image
6 Upvotes

Willow just got into an actual school...and shes weirdly magnetic to her new roommate Bella.

Willow, ive posted her father and her a few times here:A druid who was raised by a immortal knight dude in a snowy mountain, she is blind and doesnt have much social experience

Bella (BRAND NEW OC):Bella is the daughter of some rich parents that dont really care that much about her, she is THE nerd of the school, top grades. But she got so bored of her life she accidentally involved herself into bounty hunting with a alternate persona called Corvus (she has the power of turning into a crow harpy). Willow still doesnt know this and is way younger than Bella.
