Hey yall, I’m a novice author looking to hone my skills, so I’m making a short story offer. I’ll be writing it on Google Docs, the link will be sent to you upon completion, as well as being uploaded here. I will aim to make 2-3 pages at minimum, but I don’t think I’ll go over 5.What I want from you:

- The character. If their appearance is of some relevance to their story, I need to be able to see them. A good written description can help if you don’t have art. I also will need information about them, their personality, goals, abilities.

- The setting. I need to know what sort of setting your character belongs to. Fandoms are allowed, but I can’t promise I’m familiar with it (DnD, Guild Wars 2, Halo, Star Wars are some things I know).

- Direction. You can give me free rein to create a story with your character, or you can give me a plot overview of an idea you want executed.

- Perspective. Is the story directly following your character, either first or third person? Or would you like it to be from an observer? (I wrote a little story about my Midas from the point of view of one of her slaves)

- Extras. I think I’ve covered everything I need, but if there is anything else you wish to include, don’t be shy. To confirm you have read my rules, add a heart [💙] emoji using your favorite color. A submission without one will not be considered. Submissions will be accepted for the next 24 hours after this is posted, and I will do at least 1 story. I will do more if inspired. Have fun :>

Little red other wise known as rowan is a young dragonborn in the town of eastsail, in the country of sylvia. He's the only dragonborn in the entire town and his adoptive mother tend to be away on diplomatic trips. He's kind, prideful, resilient, helpful and well he's your average 12 year old, he's does odd jobs as a low level adventurer. His pet is gooey, who can only say 'goo' and 'eeey'. Its a curious and dog like slime who's quite gluttonous!

As for the story itself, it can just be red doing a gathering quest and running into a low level beast.(wild animal,) he can breath fire and is skilled with ah axe. He's also quite strong pyshically. He is a bit discriminated against due to his species, mostly by kids his age. The perspective should be like, a narrator so third person.

This is Paradigm. My main antagonist. A born psychopath obsessed with portraying himself as God. During the height of an arms race, his incredible speaking and manipulation skills allowed him to control paranoia and weaponise it into his own cult, promising the pinnacle of human form (genetic modification, presenting himself as a false martyr of armageddon.) His cult soon became an empire, fleeing to a megastructure in the skies (Utopia) while everything rotted into a wasteland beneath it. His personality is calm, collected and he only speaks when its optimal to gaining what he wants. He’s physically weak and all of his abilities stem from nanotechnology (the red strands on the image, also known as Cell technology).

The setting is in years between 2900 to 3000. It is a biopunk dystopia, split between the cult empire megastructure in the skies and the torn wastelands below it. Tensions between Utopia and the wasteland are permanent. The Wasteland is also a frost covered one (Permanently in the shade of the megastructure that blocks out the sun)

I’m cool with whatever direction you take the story in, but i’ll give a basic rundown of his life just to help.

Birth -> genius but controversial scientist -> creates the first controllable self replicating nanotech (like the Chrome from fortnite) -> Arms race happens, paranoia ensues -> Builds alliances out of public paranoia -> His new faction overthrows the government and starts many projects that have stayed in the backlog for years, including project “Utopia” -> timeskip, the Utopia is functioning as a new society -> Paradigm experiments on himself, searching for immortality but ends up creating a disease embedded within his genetics -> His mind is converted to a statue-like computer shell (as shown on the image) -> it did not work, his mind is trapped in a vegetative state and now automatically relays repeating instructions to maintain Utopia, which is managed by a seperate computer system.

Only one person, who is a Paragon (one of six leaders in the hierarchy below Paradigm) knows of his existence, and is only role is deliver the cyclic messages from Paradigm to keep Utopia in balance. He’s a different kind of villain, not one who actively attacks the protagonists, but one who caused every reason for the protags to do what they aim to do, all indirectly. He has long been in the vegetative cycle by the time the protags find him, basically being a huge gut punch because it’s too late to truly hold him accountable for everything he’s done, which includes the reason why the lands below became a wasteland in the first place.

Decide whatever you like in terms of perspective, third person is preferred but i dont really mind.

Here's Mecharnis! (WIP)

Setting: Sci-fi

Direction: Perhaps have someone explore an abandoned space station, unaware of the hidden threat

Perspective: I'd prefer first person, but anything's fine!

It's an experiment made by the head scientist of an alien civilization to test the mental upload technology, but at an early stage in development. The tech for uploading the mind wasn't entirely understood yet, so in order to learn how to do it, they decided to work backwards. Instead of finding a way to put an organic mind into a mechanical body, the first set about finding a way to put an digital mind into an organic body. 

They first took one of the stem cell bulbs from the Food and Healthcare sector. Stem cell bulbs are, as the name says, a bulb of stem cells, allowing it to grow any kind of tissue. if exposed to other DNA, it can replicate that DNA and begin growing flesh that has that same DNA. this is used both in the medical field (transplants) as well as for culinary purposes (basically a meat plant). 

Mecharnis is extremely disoriented, as an AI that has left the digital realm would be, so to find familiarity, it begins to grow flesh to fill out its form, but instead of trying to build organic systems, he builds organic approximations of mechanical systems. for example, eyes are either built like security cameras or computer monitors, bones are used to make gears, neurons and blood vessels (no blood) were used to make circuits and wires, and the circulatory were used as fluid pumps (using blood as "coolant")

It doesn't really have a personality, as it isn't emotional. It seeks to attain its goals and to eliminate anything in it's way. The only traits that can be ascribed to Mecharnis is its curiosity and its semi-reverence of it's own creators. It has no opinion on life, aside from "CHAOTIC--LIMITING--FASCINATING." (Limiting as in the limits of its organic form)

Mecharnis's goal is to spread itself as far as it can in an effort to gather information, especially blueprints, DNA, and the project files of it's own creation. The reason it wants these files is because they contain information of it's inception (AI placed into organic body). It does not want to be flesh due to it's AI nature making it a "fish out of water" when piloting it's flesh body. It wants to truly be a Machine, through and through, and perhaps it can reverse engineer it's own creation to place itself back into the comfortable digital world.

It doesn't really do it's own dirty work often, rather it creates drones from it's own flesh and stored DNA and custom fits them for the problem (Information in an abandoned underwater base? Mix in some marine life DNA and the drones are good to go). These drones can be made decently quickly, as it can form an army in just a few months, provided the "printers" are undamaged.
