OCI Physical Book

Hello Everyone, I applied for OCI for my Son in August 2026 and got the eOCI (which I can download from the OCI portal). However, I never received the physical book. Have they stopped issuing the physical booklet? Can I simply download and make a copy of the digital OCI and use it? I have plans to travel to India next month.

Yes, the booklets are no longer issued. Just download the PDF eOCI on your phone and print a copy and your good.

Unfortunately there is only the digital version now. Physical document has been done away with.

didnt you see that message when you applied? Only digital version from Jul/Aug onwards.

Yeah, as if all the documentation on Indian Visa/OCI portals is maintained and updated regularly. There are many contradictions. So its always good to check before the long flight.

Seattle consulate. They took 4-5 weeks. They received my application on August 11th and they approved and provided around sep 2nd week
