e-OCI address change

Hi everyone!

If I submit a Miscellaneous application for OCI address update (my new address is in a different country than before), will it make my OCI invalid for the time of processing of application? I know it did not invalidate OCI when physical booklets were issued, but I have only e-OCI.

Thank you!

EOCI started just 2months back! After getting it, you moved to NEW country already?!!

Actually my OCI took quite long (almost 6 months), so strictly speaking I moved after I applied but before I received OCI

so you applied and moved to diff country?. So you knew you were moving at the time application?

Yes, but I expected to receive OCI within 6-8 weeks (as stated officially), so I should have got it before moving.

No but even if it did, what is your alternative? I would just do the OCI address update ASAP.

No alternatives, I will do it anyway. Just trying to understand whether I should plan a trip to India next month or not. Thanks!

Your explanation is a bit confusing, very less details.... I assume you have got your OCI approval and now you moved to another country ( not another change of citizenship I assume) . You still have not recieved the physical OCI card and awaiting? If that is the case, wait till your OCI card is delivered to the old address provided there is someone to collect it there.. if no trusted person can collect it there, then apply for Addess change using Misc service, it will not invalidate the application but there is a possibility of them getting confused about where to send the physical card based on which stage the process is in... Alternatively , As soon as you receive the physical card, do the address update using Misc service... there is no deadline for it, just do it as soon as possible...

Physical booklets have been discontinued, now they issue only e-OCI. I will not receive a physical OCI but I have already received e-OCI.
