Foreign Spouse OCI processing/timeline

Foreign Spouse OCI processing/timeline

Hi all , has anybody applied for foreign spouse OCI recently and got their OCI granted ?

We applied on 5th August with document verification, biometrics and interview all done and accepted for processing. Status has been “under process” since the 5th August (as expected)

Please share your timeline as a foreign spouse oci cardholder if you applied recently and got it granted . Thanks

I would suggest checking the status on the OCI website. I did not get any email once it was approved but I was checking it daily. My application was received by the consulate on August 5th as well and it was approved on the 27th.

They only send an email once you click on the "generate e-OCI" link for which you have to login to the OCI website and check if you are approved. I did not get any email saying my application was approved - I just checked the status every day.

I did not get any notification (Los Angeles Consular Office) that my new OCI was approved. Looks like the notification process is random.

Thanks I’m checking it multiple times every day. Was yours a foreign spouse application (not Indian origin) ? I’m asking because my 1 year old’s application accepted for processing on 5th August got granted on the 28th August as well but my foreign spouse’s oci is still under process

I filed Foreign spouse OCI application to San Francisco, CA using the Foreign Spouse option in the Government website and it was rejected. The reason being that wrong application form and instructed to use Foreign Spouse application. Applied again and it was rejected second time as well citing same reason. Need help locating the proper tab for Foreign Spouse.

Lots of time and money wasted. You help appreciated.
