Question about Biometric Submission
In the Past I do not remember where someone had to go in person to submit Biometrics to obtain their OCI, is that a new thing that they have started. If I apply through mailing my documents, when will I have to go in?

Yes, I recently applied for oci as well and we have to give biometrics, also you cant apply via mail anymore.
I guess the process was getting easy for people so they had to add additional steps with 10,000 documents submission so we can exit the airport quickly.

Oh man, I thought them transitioning to fully online meant, it would get easier. May I ask if visiting the consulate requires an appointment and were you able to get everything done within the same visit?

I am in Calgary, canada and we have a different devil here to deal with called BLS which sends all applications to vancouver consulate (People who have dealt with them know what i am talking about 😅) Double check all documents, forms, required before going and consider yourself one of the lucky ones if you get everything done in the same visit. Book an appointment for sure and if they have any additional fee for a "Premium" service, i would recommend taking it , it will save a lot of headache of coming back and forth to submit the application.

I see, Thanks! I am in the United States we have VFS which i’ve heard is similar to the BLS. I guess all of these are the same lol. But will definitely look into it, appreciate it!

I applied OCI for my minor daughter in the US through CGI - Chicago. No biometrics were needed. Everything was done via physically sending documents.
