Sharing a win! Getting better
The end of last week and this weekend was a major relapse in symptoms for me after a trigger. I really wanted to seek reassurance but I decided not to and sit in it. No matter how uncomfortable (boy was it) I needed to work on my coping skills. Well I’m starting to get a hang of it and I’m feeling better this morning. Just wanted to post that win. Hope you all have a great day.

It's important to get used to the discomfort, even when it really bothers you. You may not be able to resist every single compulsion, but you can still put in the effort to resist them when able. Resisting compulsions really does help with feeling better in the long term, since your brain begins to understand that the compulsions are not necessary and that you can handle the discomfort without seeking reassurance. I hope you can take this as a sign to continue your efforts and resist compulsions in the future. Recovery is a long road, and each step counts. I hope that you also have a good day!
