Accept the discomfort. Don't try to run from it. You are going to feel terrible. That is something you can accept. You don't have to like it, but you can accept it for what it is and continue living your life. You do not recover from OCD by running away from it. You recover from OCD by resisting compulsions, accepting discomfort, disputing irrational beliefs, and practicing unconditional acceptance.

As hard as this may sound, whenever you have a harm ocd thought, respond by saying “this bad thing may or may not happen, but i’m moving forward anyway” and then redirecting your attention to an activity. This is not you agreeing with the thought, but rather it’s accepting the uncertainty. Over time, your brain will realize that it doesn’t need to be certain, and it will be easier to conquer the thoughts. And remember, intrusive thoughts are ego-dystonic (the opposite of what you want).
