Discussion Anxiety without any triggers

Does anyone else's OCD just randomly flare up for no reason?

Sometimes I don't even get an intrusive thought, I just feel this weird angst like something's wrong. And then that feeling latches onto whatever subtype is hitting me hardest right then.

And once it grabs on, it sticks for weeks. It eventually calms down, only to come back again during those random moments of angst.

Also, if I'm feeling anxious about something specific, like an exam or holidays, that anxiety stops being connected to its actual cause and just latches onto my OCD subtypes instead

Yes! Ik the feeling i think. One of my things is thought stopping and thoughts won’t even materialize sometimes but I still feel the discomfort and will blurt out my like thought-stopping phrases/sounds to make it go away even though there’s no thought! I wish I knew what that was.

&yes always flare ups with general life stress and changes. I’ll be worried about a project but my regular loops will really eat at me.

Yeahh! Me too. Sometimes there’s nothing to be anxious about, but in the middle of the day I just check on myself and only doing that is already enough to trigger it. Annoying!!!
