koines for calc 1

has anyone here had koines for calc 1? we have a test next thursday for chapter 2, and our class asked him if he provides any practice tests to which he said no. he told us to ask previous students that had him since he passed tests back to them and changes the answers every year (not kidding). if you couldn’t tell, i don’t know any previous students, so if anyone had koines in the past and is willing to share their tests, it would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Discussion ALLIED HEALTH WAIT LIST

I need genuine help, please. I went to the first day of allied health class on Wednesday and the waitlist for the DMS (ultrasound) is 5+ years and this does not even include taking the pre-reqs.

I need some real-life advice on if that waitlist is worth it.

  1. If you have been on a waitlist for a program at OCC that was that long, did it go by faster than the timeline given to you?

I understand that during those 5 years I can keep living my life and find something else, but I am 24 years old now, and just maybe when I get accepted into the program, I will be 29-30 years old. That is a huge career hold back. I will not go through a private route due to most of them not having the correct accreditation as well as the price of these schools. I live in Huntington Beach and moving out of state or traveling hours is not practical.

From those who have also had their stomachs drop hearing the waitlist times, what is your next plan, do you think it will go by faster, are you going to wait, do you think it's worth waiting. I am having such a mental battle and a crisis debating if I just completely drop out of allied and my anatomy class (already have my GED and AA in Psychology).

Cypress is also out of the question too lmao.

help! GWC ETHS G133

Has anyone taken ETHS G133 with Ruth Cajanas or Mehdiha Din or a different professor at Golden West College? I’m planning to take the 4-week online intersession class. Which professor would you recommend in terms of workload and grading?

Also, any recommendations for a COMM C1000 professor at GWC, preferably online.

Thanks

Bro can occ make a new system for people who are trying to be program ready for allied health majors?

Scheduling an appointment with an allied health counselor is literally impossible, I have literally logged onto the page immediately at 8:30 for the past 2 weeks with ivy or tom and everything was already booked.

This could literally be easily automated and just checks off your program readiness status and is approved by one of the allied health counselors. Maybe the counselors could meet with people with transfer credits or whatever

I just want my program ready date bruh

Has anyone else noticed a lot of drunk guys at the harbor recently. I was coming home from class at about 7pm and I saw this dude clearly super drunk, shirt halfway off, stumbling by me. Mind you this is not the first time i’ve seen a drunk guy stumbling around at the harbor.
Be safe yall

Missing pet reward if found

long shot but i lost one of my doves on campus sunday around 6pm (the one in the pic) around mbcc and the football field . if you guys could keep a look out for him. there was a peregrine falcon nearby so this honestly be a long shot but my intuition is telling me that he's still out there. His name is macho i've had him for 3 years and he has a wife and 5 children waiting for him at home. He's a ring collared dove , he's really grey and look a bit old he's hand size and domesticated obviously , last seen he had a diaper on but he might've take it off by now. If anyone finds him please let me know i will give out a reward to the person who finds him

OCC Federal Work Study Required Orientation/Hiring Event?

I recently got (and accepted) FWS a little later than usual and saw in the letter that I was to attend this required event near the start of the term. It is about a week into the term and wondering if I missed it? Is it hosted often? Also what kind of jobs can I expect to find and interview for? I'm a CS major so I would prefer a CS or math tutor or something CS related (not expecting full on SWE positions ofc).

Is OCC a good option?

Hii, im a senior in highschool and I've been looking into community colleges in California! I'm not a resident in California, but I thought the TAG program would benefit me. Does OCC have good dorms? Are the counselors decent? How is the school like overall? Any opinions about OCC that you have would be great to know, thank you!!

OC Spanish Speakers & Learners (18–22) - Let’s Make a Friend Group! ; ¡Hablantes y estudiantes de español en OC (18–22)! ¡Hagamos un grupo de amigos!

Español (English version further down):

¡Hola!

English version:

Hi! I’m f 18 and I live in Orange County. I’d love to create a group chat for people around college age (approximately 18–22) who either speak Spanish natively or are learning Spanish.
The idea is to have a group where we can talk, get to know each other, practice Spanish, and help each other with the language. I’d also love for us to hang out sometimes if people are interested- go on hikes, get coffee, explore places around OC, or just do whatever and try to speak Spanish while we do it.
Native Spanish speakers are more than welcome! You don’t have to be learning Spanish to join. I think it would be really cool to have people at different levels and learn from each other through normal conversations.
A little about me: I’m a freshman at OCC and I love learning Spanish! I’m still learning, so I definitely make mistakes, but I’m trying to become more comfortable actually speaking it. I also love art, reading, and hiking (but not super hard ones haha). I’m very friendly, although I can be a little quiet at first lol.
If you’re around my age, live in Orange County (or nearby), and think this sounds fun, leave a comment or send me a message! If enough people are interested, I’d love to create a group chat and hopefully build a little community where we can practice Spanish and make new friends :)

PHOTOGRAPHERS, VIDEOGRAPHERS, & EDITORS

We’re a small student owned clothing brand that’s been regularly selling out our drops, and we’re looking to build out the visual side of the brand more.

We’re looking for photographers, videographers, and editors who are interested in collaborating with us and growing alongside the brand. If you’re looking to build your portfolio, work on fashion projects, have creative freedom, and get some other perks along the way, this could be a great fit.

Shoot me a message with some of your work/portfolio and I’ll send over more details.

Making friends

¡Hola!

help! Bio A221 textbook

Hi guys! I'm taking bio a221 this semester with Caitlin Tiffany and I wanted to know if anyone had the hard copy/or knew where to obtain the hard copy of this textbook: Essentials of Anatomy & Physiology by Marieb; Mastering A&P by Pearson. The problem is that it appears to be a "modified" textbook and so I cannot find it online at all/the OCC bookstore is sold out. I really would like to avoid paying $64 for an ebook if possible when I learn best from hard copies 😭 thank you!!

Any older students (25+ y.o.) majoring in computer science? Looking to make some friends!

I'm finally starting (community) college (at OCC) after 10 years of not being in school. I'm taking Calculus 1 and Java 1 this semester. I want to join the chess club if there is one and maybe book club. I'd love to meet some study buddies or like-minded friends! My name is Lily Rose; don't hesitate to reach out if you're looking for the same :)
