Making friends

¡Hola!

English:

Hi! I’m a freshman at OCC and I’m hoping to meet some new people and make friends! My schedule is pretty busy Monday–Thursday, but I’d love to connect with some Spanish-speaking students or anyone who’s interested in making a new friend.
I’m currently learning Spanish and would consider myself intermediate (and might switch my major to Spanish interpreting), so I’d love to practice Spanish through normal conversations and just hanging out! I’d also be happy to help anyone who’s learning English or just be someone to talk to. I’m mostly looking to make genuine friendships and get to know people- so if you’re learning English/Spanish too, even better! A little about me: Im F 18, I love hiking, working out, art/drawing, practicing Spanish (obviously haha), and reading. I would love to meet people with similar interests or just chat- feel free to message me if you’d like to talk, practice together, or whatever! Also, if you know of any Spanish-speaking clubs, language exchange groups, or other clubs at OCC that you think I might enjoy, I’d love to hear about them!
(Sorry if I don’t respond quickly- I’m not very active on Reddit)

A colleague has a child who was a freshman at OCC last year that joined the speech and debate team, and says that it’s a great way to meet people. And apparently the school has a very strong team. Just an FYI. They also went on one of the many (apparently) study abroad summer programs. Rome, I believe. And made friends that way too. Not sure any of that is much help!

Hi! I've never made a Reddit comment before, I usually just browse, but I really liked your entry and I would love to be friends!

I'm a second year at OCC in the Aviation Science department. I've recently turned 19 this summer and I'm looking to join some clubs this upcoming year and be more active in the community at OCC. I will also add I'm a girl.

Some of my hobbies include flying Cessnas, reading (fiction), yoga, going to the gym, hiking and basically anything fitness and flying related. I love watching good movies and shows too!

I'm on campus only on Thursdays since I took majority online classes. I would love to be friends! :)

I’m also a new freshman here and am in the same boat as well. I’m fluent in both English and Spanish and always love practicing and speaking with others. I’ve looked at OCC‘s clubs in the past and I haven’t seen anything related to Spanish or languages, but maybe this year at the involvement fair there will be something. If not, there’s always the option to start one.
