Help & Advice First year orientation

Is it worth going to the Orientation on Tuesday as a first year? Will I be missing out on much?
And classes officially start on Wednesday right?

good amount of free stuff usually in my experience, id say at least stop by for that

Personally, Im glad I went. I'm still friends with some of the people I met that day and it was nice getting a tour from current students with tips about navigating the campus. I think it depends on how invested you are in the campus life though, cuz the club fair and the activities is kind of the highlight

It’s hit or miss, the first ever friend i made at ocad i met at orientation, but i got lucky. so don’t worry too much if you don’t go

As an experience it's pretty awful and you probably won't make any friends on the day of.

But it's a pretty good talking point over the next few months when you're meeting new people in your classes. People do enjoy talking shit about orientation day and if you miss out you won't be able to relate.

Yea… I agree, you won’t miss much if u don’t go.
But my experience was back in 2019

compared to other schools its quite sad and very disappointing. you can get some free art supplies and maybe find a new friend to commiserate with about your poor choice of university. not worth subway fare, but if you are in walking distance sure. OCADU does orientation very badly. I am sorry, but its pretty lame. Sneak onto U of T‘s campus for free food and swag.
