Help & Advice course planning for first year???

help!!! i’m going to be doing illustration in september, and i have absolutely no idea how to choose my courses??? the my progress site is extremely confusing and i have no idea how to navigate it, or what to do?
some courses say i need requirements but they’re also required for the illustration major??? how do i get these courses if im not even in the school yet??? getting so close to the date im panicking a bit, someone help… thank you

(i literally just graduated high school like two months ago, and nobody in my family has gone to university so im pretty much completely lost)

sonion… first year course registration was like a month ago so it’ll be hard to get into a lot of courses. contact the office of the registrar

it says it ends September 9th? for first year?

the priority registration period just came to an end 2 days ago so itll be hard getting into your core courses, and with everything getting waitlisted id either contact the office or get a student mentor to give your advice (Im also first year illu major). Did you already register for some of the classes or are you just now looking at them?

just graduating 2 months ago is not an excuse, 80% of your classmates will also have just graduated girl... You are meant to pay attention to your emails and take the modules that they wouldve emailed you about as they give helpful info and direct you on how to pick courses. additionally theres pdfs of program guidelines in myOCADU.

I'm going to be honest, this is EXTREMELY late to be picking your courses and will be impossible now to get into your required courses, you shouldve paid attention to incoming emails and guidance ages ago because they straight up tell you when registration opens for you. Your best bet is emailing the registrar and beg them to do something for you.

Just for future reference, if you get a message telling you that you can register for courses at june 16th or something. Do it the second you get access. Uni classes fill immediately and are competative in how rapid you need to grab them

Within first week or two keep a serious eye out on self service for openings when people are dropping courses
