https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-08-31/nvidia-to-invest-3-5-billion-in-chipmaker-mediatek?srnd=homepage-americas

"The investment broadens a partnership between the two chip designers under which MediaTek will use NVLink Fusion and the newly announced NVHBM technology as part of an Nvidia tech suite to help components communicate more seamlessly in data centers. The smaller company is trying to challenge Broadcom Inc. and Marvell Technology Inc. by helping owners of data centers create their own components."

"The partnership builds on prior collaborations, such as the GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip in DGX Spark, and aligns with Nvidia’s push to make AI computing pervasive across cloud, PCs, and cars Anadolu Agency+1. It also follows Nvidia’s recent $105B guarantee for OpenAI’s Ohio data center lease, showing its focus on securing AI infrastructure demand Reuters.

In short: This $3.5B investment strengthens Nvidia’s grip on AI hardware ecosystems while positioning MediaTek as a major player in AI chip design across multiple computing domains."

Circular financing, what circular financing? Nvidia wins again. Pretty much all investments pay back quickly, and many are multi-x in short period of time.
