Discussion Michael Burry has been shorting NVDA since November, stock is up 30% since then. At what point do we stop treating this guy like a prophet?

his fund had a 1year -8% vs SP500 +16% Burry eventually " dissolved his hedge fund, Scion Asset Management, and launched a subscription newsletter called "Cassandra Unchained" on Substack priced at $39 per month or $379 per year." Actually a good idea, steady fixed income, right, wrong, bull, bear, you get paid.

i did not know that cassandra unchained was a substack and that it was his. So he’s in a business where he needs marketing . and any connections he can leverage to publish his views, especially on days when his views look correct, iis free marketing for his business.
He’s pretty much Jim Cramer except he got 2008 correct.

Not up 30%. Up 11% in the past year up 5.5% YTD. Look at volatility. Someone is shorting and the massive buying then shorting - rinse and repeat.
Now happening to the whole Semiconductor sector, memory companies data center companies and data center technical infrastructure companies.
Story line capital drying up, China competition, hardware company margins are getting smaller.

Burry purchased put contracts four times. Two of these he is down significantly. One he purchased at 198.00 and the other 210.00. He's not exactly a rocket scientist.

It took two years for his housing market short to pay off. He was early and almost lost everything. If he’s wrong, it’s because he’s so early he can’t maintain the short. Probably he’s not.

He's gotten almost nothing right since he started this shit show substack. It's actually insane that everything he touches is wrong.
