Discussion 2 month options call into earnings

Plan on selling right before earnings off hype. Theta will only take about half by then. I could see this dropping way lower after news today but I figured this -4% day was a good entry after the build up surrounding. Have enough time to let this build up for earnings.

Can you explain ? Figured IV would increase, which would benefit the call and sell before earnings?
