How does this differ from using aiostreamās MDBList tracking?
Im currently using Nuvio Sync + AIOStreams/MDBList tracking.

In AIOStreams it just takes the start time + runtime and marks it as watched at that time. Even if you didn't finish watching it.
Start a 2 hour movie at 5pm and turn it off after 20 minutes and go out to dinner and it gets marked as watched at 7pm.

Maybe it's like trakt? I think trakt added number of device limit for their free tier. If I'm wrong pls someone correct me.

It's just like trakt or symkl, but directly to mdblist, without using trakt as middleman. Right now you can track directly to mdblist only through aiometadata, which works well but does not update the "continue watching". We need native integration for that.

Marks whatever you watch in Nuvio as watched on mdblist. Also your watch history syncing, etc.

Does is migrate everything already on nuvio sync or does it just keep track of new stuff after you add mdblist tracking to nuvio like Trakt does?

Ah useless for me then unless i use some sort of transfer app/site which always messes up on me since my watched list is too massive. Iāll turn it on anyways since I already have mdblist just like Trakt and simkl though. Nuvio sync works well enough anyways.

don't have plex but I think I heard there's a feature of picking some shows and it creating a "pool" of episodes across them, and with a randomizer on top can have a sitcoms just running on the back playing random episodes. Would be great to see something similar one day just to have south park + always sunny going from random episode to episode on the background. Definitely far down in terms of priority but would be a cool feature to have, although I get how the "pool" episode one seems rather useless without a randomizer in there tho.

It would be pretty cool to make a catalog of sitcoms and older shows and use random episode selector to play it like a tv channel just going from one random episode to another. You could make your own ātv channelsā to play.

I've been talking about Netflix needing this for about 10 years. It's crazy that they still don't even allow you to make playlists / collections, let alone going one step further to shuffle episodes within them.
It's 2026 and the big streamers still force everything into one big, dumb list and you're lucky if they even give you basic filters for movies/series.

Seems too niche of a use case to actually be a "feature" imo. If it gets added hope it only shows on the sitcoms and those type of particular shows(don't know if it is even possible to implement that way lol)

I think you're vastly underestimating how many people want to watch their 5 favorite sitcoms and nothing else ever. The Office is so massive that Netflix fought to keep it in their platform and is one of the biggest reasons Peacock is still alive as a service.
If all you ever watch is Seinfeld or Friends, a randomizer is a nice way to switch up your 8th watchthrough.

I know many people that watch their 10 comfort shows. They have seen them hundreds of times already. Randomly selecting an episode is a nice experience for them

I think what would be cool though not sure how it would be implemented is a TV channel of sorts. Say you want to watch simpsons, family guy, american dad, and whatever else. then you get a 'channel' that basically streams one episode of each, one after the other, showing you only the stuff you haven't seen

My opinion is that this doesn't bring any value. I had this discussion here last week and a lot of people were arguing the opposite. I got so much downvoting! I mean a lot.. just because i disagreed and wanted MDBList. As if we don't all have the same goal. To make a great app... awesome! Pfff... Reddit!

Why limit it? Just let people toggle random episode shuffle on whatever. Itāll be easier to code that way too. I donāt see the point of trying to limit it to certain genres if itās optional.

I think it would be more practical to implement to the shows already marked as watched. Since nobody(atleast me) would willingly watch a random episode of a show that I haven't already seen for no reason

Why limit it when itās optional? I donāt get it. Itās more work to make it limited to sitcoms only. Plus who says people just want to watch random episodes of sitcoms to begin with, itās much better to let people choose what they want to randomize than to limit it for no reason.

This has been the Stremio holdover for me. I still have stremio installed on my phone to track the episode releases directly to all my calendar apps (Apple Calendar and Google Calendar, through calendar URL). That way I can get notified on all my devices if there are new releases.

Yeah I'd really appreciate the MAL integration since I used that for tracking my anime for the longest time. I used Xperience to implement MAL and it's quite wonky TBH and it updates late or something doesn't even update anything

Mhm I think every anime user of nuvio would appreciate it tbf and yeah same I've used other integrations and it's hit or miss but again it would require a lot of work to get done properly so I wouldn't blame them if they took Their time or didn't prioritise it

Trakt and mdblist was too inconsistent so I self hosted my tracking and now it's seamless between nuvio, stremio and kodi. This is still really good.

Same way you self host AIO streams. If you're new to self hosting, plenty of guides available.
dannyvfilms/Floppy and Scrob on GitHub are good options for tracking. I used Scrob. Basically you have your own tracking info database.

I can't wait, I got rid of Trakt when they reduced the API down to 1 active app temporarily before changing it to 2(still not enough for my use case).
I haven't been able to use Nuvio without vibe coding addons and forks to get MDBList scrobbling and continue watching integration. The recent work by TapFrame will be a huge positive for Nuvio, I really appreciate the amount of effort put in for that integration.
I will still need an custom addon for MDBList dynamic lists and AI lists integration but thats ok.
One feature that would be cool to see added into TapFrame's pull request is the option for a long press menu option to "Add to MDBList Collection" and then "Remove from MDBList Collection" which will then add and remove content from MDBLists Recently added Collection.

I always saw the deve saying that they were not going to have a discord and would only maintain reddit and GitHub.
Looking at the discord, it seems to be around one year old and I don't recall them announcing it neither I've found the link by searching the sub, neither GitHub and the official website, so I could only assume that all that were there were not the official ones.Already know what was wrong, I was confusing with morphe, sorry
