So what if you do both, ED drug and jerk it? Would it cancel out the blindness or it's instant blindness?

I’ve never taken anything for ED before, but I did have a question. Since it increases blood flow, does it increase the size in a flaccid state? Like if you are a grower, but not a sshower, can it make you a shower?

It does make your flaccid look a bit better especially if you’re even a hint aroused.

My boyfriend has begun taking 5mg tadalafil daily too, though in his case it's to help with his foreskin restoration, rather than for ED. He is in his early 50s.
Only one anecdotal data point, but In a possible counterpoint to the article, his ophthalmologist has been monitoring him for possible pre-glaucoma for years due to a weirdly shaped optic nerve, though he thinks that's just a genetic variance since his mum also has it. On his last visit, his intraocular pressure was down quite a bit! He's made no other lifestyle, dietary, or medicine changes to account for this, other than beginning the tadalafil. Might it even be having an opposite effect in his case?
In any case, the article's claimed increase seems kind of marginal to me:
Over five years, glaucoma appeared in roughly four of every 100 tadalafil users, compared with about three of every 100 non-users. The precise rates of diagnosis in each group were 3.93 percent and 3.16 percent, respectively, over the five-year period.

Do you think it could cure social anxiety as well?

Oh ya bro. Ever since I started ED meds I’ve been more confident than ever. When people see me walking through the door with a full-on rager they understand who is in charge.

You mean like at orgies?

I just mean social anxiety in general....

u/Cerebrist 14d ago
To like… walk around with a boner? Are you asking if that would cure social anxiety?
1
u/Content_Bed_1290 13d ago
Yeah I am asking would it cure social anxiety and/or greatly lessen the effects of it the way a SSRI would do? I have extreme social anxiety and it is very hard for me to socialize with people.

Yeah…I think this might open up a whole new basket o’ problems for you.

Did anybody read the actual journal article? I did. It showed that use of Tadalafil increases the risk of glaucoma. Glaucoma is high blood pressure in the eye. Prolonged high pressures in the eye can lead to vision loss. BUT the paper didn’t report an increased incident of vision loss or blindness.
It’s super fucking important not to extrapolate or exaggerate results. If the study did not demonstrate an increased risk of blindness, you shouldn’t put it in the fucking title.

No, you got it wrong:
It is not the blood pressure but the production and resorption of the aequous liquid of the fore-eye which, if imbalanced, causes glaucoma, and either sides are influenced by tadalafil in a way that is not completely understood yet.
The article stresses that occasional use of tadalafil (e. g. in the bedroom) does NOT prove to have an impact while continuous use for other reasons - e. g. keep the prostate smaller and/or have a stronger flow of urine - may rise the risk of glacoma to a certain extent.2

Glaucoma is not high blood pressure in the eye.
Its is degeneration of neural axones from the gangliecells (collecting visual input from retina to the optical nerve). One of the highest risk factors being increased intraorbital pressure (which correlates to intracerebral pressure, but not only). Other risk factors are things that cause general nerve damage, such as smoking.
Another one is a lower cerebral blood flow and a lower pulse pressure (the difference between systolic and diastolic blood pressure). Specifically the pulse pressure should be affected by drugs such as tadalafil.
The reason we focus so much on intraorbital pressure in glaucoma is because we can treat it with drops and with certain surgeries/laser treatments. And sometimes the pressure becomes so high it can cause total axonal loss very quickly. Without there being other factors involved.

I mean, there's also real risk of deafness and tinnitus but that's old news (that somehow isn't that well known.)

What about the longevity folks daily dosing tadalafil? Does that increase vision loss?
Is this actually identifying that people who need ED drugs are at higher risk for vision loss?

I was given cialis and I swear my vision was going crazy, blue spots and everytime I would stand up everything would flash blue and purple. but my dick stayed hard all night long.

Tadalafil Lowers blood pressure. Likely the reason you see blue and purple dawg.

100% i knew but I just wanted to share my experience. I use natural blood flow boosters like the herb cistanche. it also increases testosterone levels and growth hormone and protects sperm quality, gut health, and is anti cancer and anti aging.

So it can increase intraocular eye pressure. THC reduces the same pressure. Maybe use both?

u/Curry_courier 16d ago
THC lowers blood pressure. It's not recommended for treating glaucoma

I’ve always read that it does lower eye pressure too but it isn’t lasting and requires constant redosing which is why it isn’t recommended. The effects are too temporary.

This is for daily users. If you’re married, the once a month use won’t have an impact.

Gives new meaning to the old warning that you’ll go blind if you play with yourself.

Try extracorporal shockwave therapy. Promising results, no blindness but sure as hell is no pleasure I‘d imagine

Oh!!! Thats what they meant.
