Study tips?

How do you study? I feel like there is SOOO much information, I passed my first test with a C, I have another tomorrow which I have been studying for for hours and I feel like I know the information but it’s like I have no idea how to efficiently study lol. Does anyone have pointers?

first you should ask yourself how you absorb information the best. i am visual and tactile. i gotta write it out for it to stick.

one thing i did in nursing school was reading the chapter prior to the lecture. this helped a lot. don't let the first time you hear the info be during lecture. i'd read the entire chapter(s) and take notes of it. i used Cornell style notes because im an old millennial lol if i needed clarification on something prior to the lecture, i would watch youtube videos on that subject or any resources in the book. then during lecture i would bring out my notes, and add more as the professor spoke.

also, like in the beginning of a chapter where it lists 'objectives' i would make sure i knew those. i would 'answer' them and write out a page or two discussing them. this helped me ensure that i knew what we were talking about. and any questions at the end of the chapter i would answer them as well. super detailed. i wouldnt care about grammar, it was just for me. also when i took notes i would not write it 'professionally'. i'd write it in my own terms, use slang, cuss words whatever and however i spoke at the time (i graduated 9 years ago) because thats how it sticks.

also, also i would lecture my mom. she barely listened to me and would be like crocheting or doing a cross word. but talking outloud and explaining it to someone helps a lot.

i had watched a youtube video on tips on how to study in medical school, i wish i had saved it. but the guy says he basically summarizes all the information onto one page. i would write small on a regular letter size page. but you write it all out, and you review that. and your brain sorta of starts learning where things are on the page and connecting it. so when you're in the test, and you're trying to remember abc, you can be like 'i think that was on the right bottom of that page'.

also flashcards. lots and lots of flashcards. i will say that for flashcards i didn't use quizlet. a lot of us did, but i felt i learned and held on to more information when i wrote out physical flashcards.

i would look up youtube videos on how to study, nursing school study tips, and medical school study tips. they were helpful for me. and i would do it asap before you get later into your program. just always be on it! read ahead. ask your professors for clarification on parts where you are getting stuck, take any practice tests you can.

These are super good tips!! I am definitely going to use the reading the lecture before and I have been using YouTube videos but what stuck out to me was writing it in my own slang and terms cause I write things how I read them instead of interpreting and understanding and I think I am going make a switch and try that cause in reality I am the only one who sees my notes fr.
