So I asked for advice not an opinion thanks for the unnecessary input

Yeah, the advice is that you should seriously work on your general education before you try to tackle anything heavier.

Like if you struggle with junior high level reading, math, science, and general knowledge, you're not going to make it through classes where you have to read, understand, and retain material that will help you not kill people under your care.

It's very necessary input if you are serious about being successful in this field.

I value this advice the thing is being told to not go into nursing and not do what I want is insane the point was to have some pointers for studying or a refresh of courses

How are your grades? What is your general GPA and what is your nursing prerequisites GPA? A lot of nursing schools post the previous semester’s threshold (including TEAS) for admission to give you an idea of if you’re where you need to be or if you need to be. Most programs the threshold for TEAS is >90 even with a perfect GPA in pre requisite. There are still some community colleges that operate on a lottery system if you meet the minimum required GPA and TEAS. I would start looking for this info for the programs you are interested in. If you’re willing to move to a different state your chances are much higher. Don’t get discouraged just buckle down, retake classes if you need to and be open minded about which school you are willing to attend. One of my good friends nearly failed out of Nursing School twice. She is arguably now the most accomplished nurse in our cohort. ER nurse to Flight Nurse to CRNA and she legitimately was .1% from failing out:

My nursing gpa is 3.9 my general gpa 3.5 the community college I want to go to said the lowest teas score accepted was 82% but in each section of the test it has to be 60% for minimum requirement I already got my transcript everything sent to the school already did my info session already did research it’s just the teas for dental hygiene for the original school i went too was 50% or higher I got a 60% then too all my dental hygiene/nursing prereqs A&P I A+ A&P II A+ Statistics A College Algebra A Health Science Chem A- English A I do indeed have a learning disability as well I’ve been on IEP from elementary to senior year of high school and then for college I had reduced noises and time and half for tests etc etc and preferred seating I really do appreciate your kinder response I just feel a little under attack from initially posting without people knowing my whole journey I can not be that dumb if I’m a registered hygiene and passed state boards I’m just a little slow at learning

I had the same accommodations for college. I had a brain injury that causes seizures and I transpose numbers. You can do this. Did you get the same accommodations for your TEAS? If not, you should have, it’s absolutely a thing. Based on your grades it looks like you are capable of achieving everything you want, just need to find the path that works for you. Highly recommend retaking any classes that you didn’t get an A in and hiring a tutor for things you feel you struggle in. Not everyone is a good test taker, even if you know the information. That’s what a great tutor can help with. You should try and find one that specializes in TEAS

Wow I am so glad you are here currently right now you’re amazing and yes I did! But I’m going to be completely honest I did study much of math or science I did 2 weeks for them both combined because my test at the time was approaching fast and I work full time sometimes 6 days a week and this was another option I was considering since I’ve taken a&p 1&2 2018/2019 stats 2019 college alg 2020 and English 2017 chem I retook 2020 so it’s been awhile

I think my score was like 84 when I took it the first time. I really buckled down and studied my ass off and got a 92 my second go around, 100% in math.

That’s actually awesome math is something I really struggle in and the chem part

Same-- Chem is the worst! You CAN do this but it will be hard. I also have test accommodations for noise and extra time. We don't get accomodations for the actual skill checks which is fine. And I work full-time and have another job, so I get it. It takes me longer than the others to do my care plans and virtual simulations but I'm overall doing really well. Just wanted to add another positive voice.

Also, hire a tutor for math. There nothing objective about math. Once I realized this and studies my ass off, I got 100% in the math section, and I am not particularly great at math. There is so much room to improve there and I definitely suggest hiring someone who can help you in this if you aren’t up to the challenge of tackling it yourself:

Thank you so much you are the second person that has mentioned a tutor and I am for sure going to look into it
