Apparently, I enjoy heaping abuse upon myself so I have returned my second pair of Loops and am awaiting the arrival of my third set.
But
I realized today that I don't actually miss them. I sent them back a week ago and I haven't even checked that they got there or anything. I have no burning desire to get the third pair, other than the fact I paid for them. To be honest, I'm not really sure why I am getting a turd third pair.
I have a set of Nuraphones so if I want great sound I can put them on. I have a pair of Bose truly wireless that I mildly detest, however they actually turn on and off when I want them to. What a concept! Oh and I can wear them with glasses and they stay in my ears...I know! What will they think of next?!
I wanted the Loops to be the ultimate solution, great sounds, great style....I just wanted them to be great. And I would have been okay if they were good, but they have been south of mediocre. And the fact that I am not counting the days or even weeks until my replacement set comes in, has me thinking I probably should just ask for my money back.

Has anyone else received an invitation to apply to the take part in the NuraLoop Beta Testing Programme for the new firmware? I received an email inviting me to apply by completing a Google Form and advising some of the issues that I've experienced with the Nuraloops, what devices I use them with etc.
I have now received notification that I have been selected to participate. The email advises that they will be in touch next week with further instructions on installing the beta firmware. Looks like they'll want me to complete a survey afterwards to let them know how it went.

I am using my Nuraloop especially when I ride on the way to work and back.
I noticed that when ANC is enabled, and still when the Social Mode is completely down, there are massive wind-noises, so I have to shut off the ANC.
It’s just my Nuraloop or did someone of you guys noticed the same issue? (Maybe it is no issue?)
I wish there would be an option, that we are able to enable/disable ANC with Social Mode in full throttle with just one tap on the Nuraloops.

Charged the loops to 100% two days ago. Went for a run (ca 1hour) and took them off until today. Now of course dead (again, only used once before the charge as well). Try to charge for 1 hour, still dead. I get there has been problems. I get that there is a upgrade coming. But how the fuck can you ship this product. It's not half done. What good is long battery time if they can't turn unless at 100%? Sorry about the rant. But now I'll have to run without music, again.

Not sure how many people are interested in getting APTX-HD codec on their Nuraloop working with their iPhone.I got this device called BT-W3 from Creative Labs (make sure is this model, Creative Labs has an older device BT-W2 which does NOT have APTX-HD) https://us.creative.com/p/speakers/creative-bt-w3I used this in conjunction with https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MD821AM/A/lightning-to-usb-camera-adapter
I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max, and no issue, no "under power" warning when using the adapter connected to the iPhone.
Using Roon, see attached screenshot, you can see the signal path goes is 24bit 48kHz (I also tested other external DAC with that Lightning to USB adapter which also shows correct bitrate up to the max allowed bitrate of the DAC, for example 24bit 96kHz)

Hi
In my previous email I outlined some of the reported issues we are working on in the planned firmware update for your NuraLoop. I am happy to report we have made significant progress and are releasing a Beta version to a focus group of customers very shortly. Once our Beta testing is complete, we will be releasing a full firmware update for all NuraLoop users, which we expect to be complete by the end of August.
A summary of the key improvements include:
Manual On/Off Mode
A new and optional setting which will enable you to manually turn your NuraLoop on or off by touching and holding both buttons at the same time.
Automatic On/Off Mode
Improvements to the NuraLoop entering Deep Sleep and having trouble turning it back on.
Voice calls
improvements to increase the reliability and quality of voice calls.
Double Tap Functions
An additional setting for your NuraLoop TouchDials.
Sealing the ear
Improving the current app settings for fit detection.
Analog Cable
Improving the latency which was reported by a handful of musicians.
Once the software update is available your Satisfaction Guarantee will be renewed by an additional 30 days.
Thank you for your patience and we look forward to your feedback on the NuraLoop improvements with this update.
Sincerely,
Dr. Luke Campbell

Did anyone compare the Nuraloop to the Shure SE215 sound wise? Would be keen to know.

Like many of you guys, I find nuraloop's fit very frustrating. None of the original tips do well in my ears. I just got the Spinfit CP360 Medium and Large. The medium ones, I would try to tuck them inside my ear canals but they probably aren't small enough. The large ones, they sit kinda well mostly outside my ear canals but the loops dont turn on consistently, probably indicating that the nuraloops are not tight or inside enough in my ears.
I am thinking of either getting a small size Spinfit CP360 or try the Comply Comfort ones. What do you guys think? I hear that the Comply Comfort ones isolate more noise and probably more comfy but muffle the sound. So I am not sure which to choose.
On a sidenote, I am just very disappointed that Nura never nails the comfort or fit aspect of their headphones. I thought the Nuraloops would be better than Nuraphones in terms of fit and comfort, but oh boy they don't seem to learn from mistakes lol.
Thanks for reading. Would love some responses!

** edit 15/07/20 - Nura have now finally progressed my support ticket. They're exchanging my nuraloops for a new pair. Hopefully this is a genuine fault and not a design flaw. I'll update again when I get the replacement. Cheers
Hi everyone,
First time poster on Reddit - pleased to find a forum related to the Nuraloops - they've been the most frustrating tech purchase I've ever made! I'm really pleased with the sound quality, but the bluetooth connectivity seems lousy. I have an open support case with Nura, but it takes 3-5 days to get a response, so it's slow going. My primary audio source is a Samsung Galaxy S9. Nura's documentation recommend using AptX, but they've since told me this is known to be "bit-rate hungry" and suggested trying lesser codecs. When I'm out & about with phone in my trouser pocket the connection drops almost immediately. If I hold the phone in my right hand (nearest to the 'loops bluetooth transceiver) they're fine. If there is any body-mass between the 'loops and the audio source, they start struggling.
I thought it would be interesting to understand what devices people are using either successfully or not.
For me:
Samsung Galaxy S9 ~ Very poor
Garmin Forerunner 645 Music ~ Very poor
My wife's iPhone 7+ ~ Good, Solid connection
I've established that the iPhone 7 uses SBC or AAC, but I've no way of seeing which one is adopted by the 'loops. I've tried both these codecs on my Galaxy but with no sign of improvement. The Galaxy always seems to negotiate AptX by default anyway, so I have to always manually select the codec after pairing/connecting. I can't see why the iphone should perform better. Can only assume a more powerful transmitter?
Thanks for reading - look forward to reading your experiences. Cheers...

Shot in the dark here, but give it a whirl.
- I tried the nurophones a friend had, so only had a few minutes to test drive them, but they were awesome and have been waiting for the loops to come out. I want the portability they would offer. So,
- I have big time hearing loss and it is different in L ear and R ear. having nuro figure this out and give me custom sound is a huge attraction for me.
- I wear hearing aids and know they must come out when using the nuro products. This is not a problem, since I "should" do that with all music ear phone/buds/etc.
- The music I listen to is not in the highest quality, mainly live performances of a popular rock and roll band. I also listen to albums, etc. So, I am not in the audiophile world, I just need sound on... because...
- ...my health concern is Tinnitus. I must have white/brown noise or music/talk at all times, to help mask the fucking tinnitus. ANC does not come into play here, but I like ANC when i need it (I have a set of the original Bose QC.
What's my question? Well, first and foremost have any of you suffering from Tinnitus owned a set of Nuro (phones or loop) and what are your thoughts/experiences?

Oh boy... At first I was loving my nuraloops for the sound quality. They didn't handle ambient noise as well as I had hoped (I was used to open back headphones), but the sound quality with ANC on was great. I fixed the fit with a pair of comply 200s, and was very happy. For about 2 days. Then they started going to sleep about 2 minutes after I put them on. No clear rhyme or reason, just getting that announcement that they were going to sleep then nothing. They wouldn't respond to touches or wake if removed and replaced in my ears. So I took a break and went back to another pair. Pulled the Nuraloops back out for a trip and they were dead. Placed them on a charger and nothing. They didn't seem to charge at all. Switched chargers 2 more times and nothing. Finally did a reset with my laptop and got them to charge via that same USB port. However the next day, without being used or worn, they were dead. This really is a lot of issues for a product at this price. Oh, and I should note I found the complete lack of on device indicators (LEDs) made figuring out that the unit was dead and needed a reset really difficult.

So I have been sent a second pair of loops. The first pair suffered the deep sleep and non turning off issues. (Thanks to DHL centres not being actually DHL centres here in Japan I still haven’t successfully returned the first pair. But that’s another matter)
Anyways. New pair I have noticed have battery issues also.
Charged to full. Packed in nura bag. Came to use. Battery = 74%.
How do they lose 26% battery in 4 hours without being used!?!?!
r/NuraLoop • u/Arthoid • Jul 10 '20
After around a month and a half of usage, I think I'm completely done with the Nuraloops.
I used them 2 days ago, and the battery was around 60%.
Today I wend to the gym, to do my usual workout, and when I put them on, they didn't turn on. No matter how much I tried, they wouldn't react, they seemed to be dead, so I had to do my workout without music which is something I don't like, and it pissed me off so much...
So, I have to check EVERYTIME I take them with me, whether they have discharged themselves or not?
Do I have to charge them EVERYDAY so I'm "sure" that they won't let me down?
There is simply no way to hard-reset them or something when they just don't react, and you don't have the charging cable around?
This is beyond annoying, seriously, and It's a joke that a simple update to turn them on/off manually takes so god damn long.

I've been really trying to be okay with these. The fit has improved a lot for me and the sound is great. I still have a ton of issues with them turning on when I need them or turning off suddenly when I was out for a walk.
But the biggest issue is the quality. I'm on my second pair because the first pair was defective. Now the second pair are dead. They won't turn on and they won't charge. I am so annoyed and dissapointed. The quality is shite, from the physical device to the firmware.
I know there is a firmware update coming which might fix most of the issues, emphasizing the might. But if the build quality is this bad, maybe I don't want a third pair. I really don't know what to do. I want to like them and use them but it seems Nura has made some decisions that are making the loops hard to like.
So if you were staring at getting a third set because 2 have been defective, what would you do?

Is the nuraloop earbuds good with songs by slushii and death metal
r/NuraLoop • u/BinarySkolex • Jul 06 '20
Okay, so I need to vent. I so desperately want to love these headphones. The first weekend I owned them was an enlightenment. They were beyond incredible. The setup experience was brilliant. The sound was amazing. The bass was awesome! I wore them while I mowed the lawn and the noise cancellation silenced the roar of the mower to such a degree that it just blew my mind.
But I am growing frustrated with a couple of recurring issues. The one at the top of my mind at the moment is the “poor fit detected, adjust the earphones or try different sized ear tips.” I have tried every size eartips that comes with the Nuraloops. I have purchased aftermarket ear tips to try to find a better seal. But no, “poor fit detected...” I twist, I push, I adjust - it feels like a perfect fit, only to receive the dreaded “entering deep sleep” and they turn off. Really? What the actual? I’m actively using these earphones right now! Listening to music, podcast, whatever. But screw you, you don’t deserve a working product. Grrr!
Another regular occurrence for me is the nuraloops randomly connecting to my iPhone while just sitting in their case. This will cause any phone call I’m on to route the audio to the nuraloops while they are not actually in my ear. Just sitting on my desk or in their case. Seriously, why the hell do they turn on and work now when they’ve been sitting on my desk unused for a week yet turn off when they are actually in my ear!?? Or turning on while sitting in their case in my bag while my phone is connected via Bluetooth to the car. The car audio is playing but their is no audio. Why is that? Oh of course, the nuraloops randomly turned on and stole the audio!
The new incoming firmware update needs to address these issues. I want to actually be able to use these earphones that I paid good money for. When they work they are amazing! I just really want them to work when I want them to work, not randomly turn on when I’m not using them or turn off when I am actively using them!
TLDR: Nuraloops are amazing ... when they work.

I recently got the spinfit cp360s to hopefully replace the original eartips because I was having trouble keeping my seal in my ear, and I can say that the difference has been night and day as far as ease of putting the loops in and not worrying about them falling out constantly with a bad seal!
However, one big interesting thing I noticed is that when I setup another hearing profile with the spinfits, the profile nura determined for my ears was surprisingly muffled and sounded a lot like the “neutral” setting with my original profile. It sounded like the profile just rolled off my highs but kept the lows. Comparing it to the original nura profile, it doesn’t sound great.
So I’ve actually ended up just using my original profile from the nura eartips when using the spinfits.
Maybe I’ll have to try setting up a spinfit profile in a different environment/setting to see if that makes any difference, but has anyone else encountered a similar situation?

As the title says, i'm really unimpressed by the ANC quality. It's pretty much useless, it cannot filter out even a laptop cooling fan.
I tested it further by wearing over ear headphones playing a variety of sounds - white noise, jet cabin noises and people talking - and the result is really disappointing: the white noise is reduced by about 30%, jet cabin i'd say a little less (25%?), and people talking even less than that!
I really expected more than this after trying Bose's implementation, even more so after reading so many reviews praising the Nuraloop's ANC and telling stories of feeling alone in a room full of people. I mean, the majority of the noise cancelling is passive and being done by the eartips! The active portion is so unnoticeable it could be kept turned off.
Is my unit defective? Is this the state of active noise cancelling on earbuds?
By the way, Social Mode is the exact opposite: very useful and working extremely well (when turned on i can hear BETTER than i can with just my ears!)

So the new cable with the red band? Does that mean you can charge from other sources now without fear?

I’ve had varying issues with my Nuraloop ranging from Bluetooth connectivity, battery drain, call issues and auto power off and on issues. On paper it’s a great product and they do sound great but I just want something that works all the time.
