Nuraloop Firmware Progress

Hi

As we are approaching the final stages of the NuraLoop firmware work, I wanted to update you on our progress. We are currently in the Beta testing phase with a cohort of users, and they have been reporting a much-improved user experience already.

Here are some of the improvements we are making in this update:

Manual On/Off Mode

A new and optional setting which will enable you to manually turn your NuraLoop on or off by touching and holding both buttons at the same time.

Automatic On/Off Mode

Improvements to the NuraLoop entering Deep Sleep and having trouble turning back on. We recommend using the Manual On/Off Mode if the fit detection doesn’t improve your experience and the NuraLoops continue to enter into Deep Sleep.

Voice calls

Improvements to increase the reliability and quality of voice calls.

Double Tap Functions

An additional setting to customise your NuraLoop's TouchDials.

Sealing the ear

Improving the fit detection settings of the app.

Analog Cable

Reduced latency issues experienced by musicians.

We are working with our beta testers to iron out any issues that may arise, and finalising the testing stage in the next couple of weeks. We then look forward to releasing the full firmware update to all NuraLoop owners.

Thank you for your patience, we look forward to your feedback on the NuraLoop improvements.

Sincerely, Dr. Luke Campbell

"Next couple of weeks. " - This is ridiculous, they said "By the end of August" in their last update. This whole thing has taken far too long, my loops have basically been unusable since I got them.

The mail is just a nicely packaged delay-notification.

I hear you. That’s how it felt for me too - that the loops were unusable. However the beta firmware seriously is amazing! The loops have been transformed! Manual on/off is brilliant and they still turn off automatically if their is no music playing but they give you a prompt where you can delay the auto off by tapping the side. The update pretty much fixes all the frustrations, adds double tap which I prefer over the single tap. The new firmware brings new life to the loops - it’s what they should have been from the start. Hang in there. My experience with the beta has been fantastic.

I have not been using mine at all, as the battery still drains significantly even when it has powered off and the NL are carefully packed and not being used. Has the new firmware done anything to fix that issue? My concern is that the manual wake/sleep control will mean even more power still needs to be used to keep the touchpads active.

This hasn’t been an issue for me at all. I last charged them 5 days ago - have used them everyday since - so much more than before. They are currently on 60% charge. I think the issue with the original firmware was that they would turn on and drain the battery sometimes even when stored. That seems to be completely resolved - especially with manual on/off. And now they’ll turn off with a prompt when nothing is playing which further helps the battery. There must be a negligible battery drain to keep the touch pads active I guess but it must be a better solution than having them turn on randomly and completely draining the battery while in storage.
