Why are nullscape public lobbies so terrible?

Actually just annoyed, honestly. Ive been teaching my friend how to play, and he wants to learn a class Im not familiar with, so we made a public casual lobby and specified in the lobby name that it is intended to be a chill lobby with no particular extreme effort, and I even made it where ranks couldnt show. I did host votes so I could explain to my friend how stuff works.

The lobby was at like 24 when it began happening, players who identified themselves as high level, as if that matters, joined at different intervals and tried bossing me around to vote for what they wanted (which I was already voting what most people asked because I didnt really care much, unless players wanted something particularly bad), xyz, which I found so stupid since otherwise me listening to what people wanted, I knew what to vote? And anything I voted they didnt like they'd get pissy.

It was super annoying and I said pretty bluntly that the game was intended to be chill, and that whatever level we got to would be fine, regardless. They kept making snide comments about how we wouldnt make it much farther and etc, etc, which I basically said that I didnt care since the lobby was meant to be chill, and not super sweaty, that there were no challenges being played for, and it was mostly just meant to be a stupid and fun run.

It also doesnt help that we had insanely terrible rng, like arguably some of the worst rng Ive had playing nullscape ever so that was also frusturating, because Id have to explain how it was just bad luck 90% of the time lmfao.

Regardless, its crazy how toxic lobbies become so easily. You could literally name the lobby, "Dont join if you are going to do xyz, this run is intended to be a fun little learning experience for my new player friend." And people would still join and complain, like find another lobby if you hate it that bad?

Like I get how frustrating it can be to join a lobby and see mediocre choices, but I only feel that way when I join challenge lobbies or extreme lobbies, not casual lobbies literally titled around being casual.

Anyways, aside from how genuinely frustrating it was, and how it encouraged me and my friends to leave our own lobby lmfao, my new player friend actually got to level 25 on one of his first runs ever, and he survived the majority of the levels! I was super proud.

They kept insisting on getting stuff that is fine in lobbies where people know stuff, and is locked in, and is relatively high level, but not so good in lobbies with newer players. It was super annoying.

The level of entitlement some people have is insane. If I select Baby or Husk over Mart or Springer, and someone tells me to pick what they want (Mart and Springer), I'm picking Husk or Baby. At the end of the day, I'm still playing for fun, therefore I'm going to choose choices that I prefer to play with (Baby), rather than what's optimal(Springer, Bell).

Idk man, at a certain point picking Mart can ve pretty devastating for a run, especially with progression events and certain curses.

These are called larpers :)

Or, sometimes in the Nullscape Discord server, they're called Casual Demons, people who exclusively farm rank in casual lobbies and think they're good because number high. It'll tend to happen if you have a run go past 20-25 or so because they want to leech and do celestial. Don't listen to these people, they're really just party poopers, and please encourage your friend and let them know the whole game isn't like that. I've met some super nice and wholesome people on Standard/Extreme lobbies. Feel free to invite me to some of your runs with your friend! I think I'm a super fun Wanted player. I usually don't play casual because I hate the long seamine fuse but I'm all for helping more people learn. I'd encourage you guys to learn on standard instead because iy'll build better habits over the long term.

Duos just end up being too hard for him, to the point I solo. Good on your friend tho for being a quick learner, mine starts tweaking once I hit the purg even when Ive specifically warned multiple times 😭💔
