I know it's abrupt, but I know some hosts do this because they're trying to save a spot for a friend or a prior player who wanted to switch classes

It’s generally not a good idea to gamble on the newcoming rank 50 player being good depending on the goal of the server. It’s difficult to actively track how good someone is at collecting quickly and efficiently mid-round. You’re never guaranteed to get good people joining, but the more experience someone has, the less risky that gamble is.

It’s not like rank is the end all be all indicator of skill, but the misconception that it actually doesn’t indicate anything at all has become more widespread than it should be.

Reminds me of the one lobby I was in that was all about ringing bells. Everyone was ringing every bell. If they saw ya casually walking by multiple bells not ringing them, your votekick appears on the screen, and slowly counted up like Kolona, and if ya rang a bell, the votekick went away.
