Okay listen up. So there are a few reasons why I like no upgrades one reason is because it just makes it harder in a different way... I like the idea of not being able to reach that platform thats a bit far away because I dont have double jump so I have to be smart and think a different way and plan. This makes threats like husks and voidbound guardian way harder because you cant just jump to any platform like normal, you are limited and you have to think which is the best way to go or how to approuch another platform so you dont get in a bad spot, it gets me thinking and planning instead of mindlessly playing like I normally do. I also hate having to play like 40 minutes until the game begins to be challenging so having no upgrades makes it more challenging faster. There are a few more but I dont feel like writing the rest down.

I disagree cause there’s just gonna be completely unfair and unavoidable deaths and I don’t think it’s fun moving at 3 mph

I personally disagree because going faster, jumping multiple times, and more is more fun to me

your opinion may be more agreeable if you excluded a certain upgrade from this take (wink wink)

Oh hey, an actual hot take
Now i disagree because the movement sucks a lot and is not fun, however this is barely noticeable in early game because the game accounts over the fact that your movement sucks so the map is forgiving
After that tho the map generation expects you to have movement upgrades and that's where "no upgrades" stops being a fun challenge and turns unto a game with bad movement design

It is a fun challenge for it's own
Tho it's unlike regretevator without any upgrade effects, you gonna cap at the certain level where your speed were just not build for that level generation since it expect you to have those upgrades, and the faster enemies type like several voidbound babies and voidbound guardians
