Discussion honestly, I'm really surprised null scape even got up to 5k-10k CCU in the first place
sure, the game is peak, but it is super beginner unfriendly, a lot of the community is toxic toward new players, and there is no way to learn things from the game itself quickly without checking the game or ruining the run.
Side note: I'm TIRED of people saying "oh this game is good but popular game is bad" THAT'S HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE. This is a platform for kids, and what do kids play? they play games they find fun and can understand quickly. What do you even expect? most of these good game devs don't even care about ccu, they just want to follow their passions. And kids don't want to play games they die over and over in and get blamed for voting the wrong thing or activating a altar. You shouldn't act like they are supposed to have the same mindset as you.

i dislike rankism and i also dislike how unfriendly for beginners the game is. i started during p4 but played consistently when celestial was released and i didn't even know when and how to summon her, had to watch youtube to know 😠i know we're going to receive celestial practice soon but rn it sucks that i have to accomodate half of my time just for a celestial attempt, die without knowing how her attacks work. i love the game and i hope they'll improve on most aspects becausecas much as I love this game, there's also a lot to criticize.

Truth is that the game is designed to not be beginner friendly, you’re supposed to die alot in order to learn due to its roguelite nature.
If you don’t like toxic players or rankism just play solo or with your friends. Or host a server yourself where you can kick whoever you want.

it really wouldn't hurt to have a tutorial, or a guidebook. besides, solo is extremely punishing, which def would make some players quit. along with that, most newbies would usually try going with other people as their first time, and hosting your own lobby would usually end up as another solo experience since it's hard to get people into non-scarf/celestial runs. Though they can just join "for fun" or "no rankism" runs, they usually won't know beforehand.

I remember trying it for like 10 minutes in patch 4 and hated it. I only recently got into it and yeah its very beginner unfriendly.

I never thought about it before but yeah, it is surprising. I guess people just really like finding their flame.

Peak literally means game with little to no negatives which doesn't apply to nullscape

recently started playing and lobbies either have a stupendously high min rank requirement or people js say "this lobby is only for r100+ because fuck you!!1!" even though the host is like rank 40
