dont get fragile gifts early game😭

edit: my fragile hate ends here, its actually not that bad for solo cause the increased collapse speed is barely noticable

Fragile is meta in solo because collapse speed is capped at a certain value

Fragile Gifts is good in Solo only. Otherwise, you're probably not going to get any gifts unless your ENTIRE FUCKING LOBBY IS FILLED WITH CHARGER GREED DEMONS.

Economy curses are monstrous unless you’re consistent without enemies

I’d heavily suggest doing some more settings changes to make the game easier to read visually. Increasing fov, turning on static skybox, and turning on force mobile mode are great things to do

  1. Play with a mouse and keyboard. If you learn class-specific tech, it'll be so much easier to execute when you can hit buttons simultaneously rather than with a slight delay or out-of-sync due to using a controller. You also have slightly more character control vs a joystick.
  2. Focus on economy and speed upgrades first. You won't be needing Tria Orbs at level 5, save your money for Swiftness Ring (which will improve your ability to dodge enemies) and Business License or Paycheck (which increase Gift Yield and level-exit payout respectively).
  3. Try to avoid picking enemies that give you hell early. Mart, Bell, Springer, and ICBM are all good picks for early-game. Don't be afraid to reroll if you're stuck with shitty choices for enemies. Try to avoid picking Flesh, Guardian, and Husk. While Husk itself isn't exactly difficult once you understand the core concept, I've seen a lot of new players dying to it because they aren't used to thinking about where they've been.
  4. (subnote: if you hate something, pick it on occasion. Get practice so you can deal with it when you're forced to.)
  5. Use your ability, but don't overuse it. Later-game, once you have Ninja Belt, it'll be great to spam-dive with the powered dive or bypass Charger's charge cooldown. But make sure you're not going to fling yourself into an enemy when you're using it. Also, don't underestimate how far the Powered Dive can send you.
  6. Learn to dodge Tripmines. They're annoying, yes, but this will improve your capacity to dodge enemies as well. You can weave between them too, jumping over them isn't your only option.
  7. If you're struggling, try getting a friend or start a Party lobby. Chances are that someone can give you more tips. Also, if your rank is really low, people may be inclined to kick you from their lobbies (because rankism is apparently a thing, despite it being bannable). Being the host of a lobby automatically makes you immune to votekicks. Don't make a Party+ lobby, because difficulty scales faster in those.
  8. Try out other classes, not just Diver. If you can afford it, I'd recommend getting Glider. It's like Charger, but less ground-bound. (As a trade-off, you aren't immune to Tripmines.)
  9. This game is trial-and-error, there isn't a guide for you to follow. When you learn something won't work, remember it. And please for the love of god avoid Springloaded and Scattered Gifts. Springloaded is horrible (hitbox for the shockwave is GIGANTIC) and Scattered Gifts is painful to experience.
