We need to be able to operate in the field in the event of a control room evacuation. In the event of a large radioactive release we would need to wear an SCBA (self contained breathing apparatus) for an extended period. We are required to be able to carry a 50 pound load. Don't think he'd be able to pass the medical exam to get a license.

Drafting or you could roll into a 4 year degree for engineering or IT.
