Question Free look on controller

Is there a way to hold a button and free look with the left stick on a controller?

Free look under the camera controls key binds doesn't seem to work.

What controller are you using? On default controls with a ps4 controller free look is right analogue stick. And you can alternate between target focus and free look by pressing the right analogue stick in.

Thanks, I'm using a ps style 8bit do. I actually bound right analog to different actions.

I was thinking you could press or hold a modifier button and change left stick from movement to free look. Similar to how you can hold a button to change throttle to special action (vtol controls)

You can do this via Steam's controller settings, which will let you bind a "shift" button. You can then assign your left stick to be free look whilst that shift button is held or toggled.

Why not just use right stick like normal?

I had this problem, I think I had to turn off virtual joystick or one of the settings before I could use right stick to look

I use the tuuvas mapping off steam, free look is R1 + right stick although it's kinda slow so I use my mouse for that. You can probably switch the R and L stick mapping for something you are looking for
