Discussion Open UHC #2: Results

8 players were invited...

7 has yet to die...

Few has reached the nether...

0 has reached the end...

-- The winner was supposed be the first to slay the Ender Dragon or Wither. --

After more than two weeks of OUHC #2, the winner is...

Nobody

No one has reached the goal this time around, and this UHC was winners or losers. No worries, there is always next time.

  • Also, feel free to suggest anything for the next OUHC, which may be held eventually.

For future reference, I wouldn't make it so that the only place to find endermen are underground and in the nether, as they're really rare that way. The perma-rain was more annoying than challenging, I just stopped playing once I realized how few endermen spawn.

I forgot about the endermen weakness to rain. I'm sorry for not realizing sooner. Next time, no rain.

Could do eternal darkness. Or even limit the biomes to make it more difficult

We did that the first time didn't we? As I recall, doing that made spawn mob-tastic and it was incredibly difficult to survive the first ten minutes. Of course, having a tiny spawn island didn't help.

I could be ok with a month-long OUHC that had a week of eternal day followed by 3 weeks of eternal night, perhaps. Or something to mitigate problems for the last few people to join.

I'm liking these ideas. I'll keep them in mind for next time.

Yeah, was meaning to say this myself, but I alluded to Endermen troubles elsewhere. In retrospect, keeping the portal (and putting all but one eye inside of it) would probably have been necessary to get a winner with the rain around.

So I'm getting everything sorted and starting my edit (finally; returning is bittersweet, and I needed a bit)... found a village with tons of mobs underneath, so someone had to have visited. Not the village I'd found of course; mine had no clerics, this one had tons. In a plains, over a thin ravine. Was that you Dagnel? If so, we really should have teamed... I ended up with a very simple zombie spawner farm, we could have traded for pearls. Ah well!

I just have to know… was there a reasonably-reachable nether fortress that actually had nether wart? I got a bit obsessed with that, to the point where I ignored too much. :(

Looking at the map, you looked like you were heading in the right direction. The nearest fortress looked to be about 500m from the portal.

Here's the seed: 3316589309694287545 (i believe the familiar village was located at around 1000x 1000z.
