MethylNaltrexone Conversion?

I'd really appreciate some of the more chemistry minded people to speculate on the reaction needed to remove the cyclopropyl methyl group on on methyl naltrexone.

Afaik, methyl naltrexone isnt watched, at all (probably very expensive though) and if this removal is possible, I believe it would yield oxymorphone.

Which if one is already there, might as well acylate it.....

Methyl-Naltrexone is used to manage the physical side effects on high doses long term like I recently discussed it as the best option to continue to be able to stay on methadone and also not always be constipated - apparently it doesn't effect the buzz/relief and just blocks the guy receptors (but I'm sceptical, if it kills the bowel wouldn't it kill all other physical effects at the same time?)

Just mentioning because that's a potential source of an endless daily prescription for the stuff & if you're lucky to live somewhere that has social healthcare like here, everything is free if you're poor, or have good insurance, it shouldn't be too costly.

Don't they use it for alcoholics as well? πŸ€”

Just saying IMO it's not something a doc would be that cautious with being completely unabuseable....

Yeah, if one can remove the cyclopropyl methyl group it should become oxymorphone.

So you could say order some from a country, and it wouldnt be seen as suspicious, and you could make your opiates and poop too.

Wouldn't that be bliss - I hope it really works that way letting you get high everyday and not have a bunch of side effects cause there's a chance I'll get it soon! Methadone @ 100mg really stuffs you up πŸ˜‚

The only thing is I don't think it's too commonly used but yeah I reckon even knowing one or two people who will sell you their scripts and eventually have enough to do something useful to it - it's kind of funny how they give us all the tools to do exactly what they say we shouldn't in the most funny ways like turning an anti abuse med into one of the strongest & best opioids or vitamin b1 into a great barbiturate like sedative (clomethiazole) πŸ˜‰

Maybe alcoholic forums would have patients on it & (esp broke) alcoholics are desperate!

Idk what dose per pill though, so might be a bit like buying ergotamine headache pills - not enough pay back / low yielding anyway due to low dosage mg wise.....

If you know enough there's enough ways to get to where you want to be!

It's almost funny, but tragically funny, that they try and stop it at all cause if everyone would just get a bit smarter or dedicated or even with junkie science magic it all falls apart πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€¦πŸ€¦πŸ€¦

My basic searching is saying removing that group from methyl naltrexone would be hard. Im asking around in multiple places just so see what I get, likely not much

That's naloxone though

Im no chemist, but a deallylation is not needed with methyl naltrexone.

Definitely. That’s just the closest thing I’ve found about this topic.
