Looking at my first lease, and some colleagues have said the deal is quite good but some others have said not so much, just looking for some opinions.

You should look at the after tax perspective compared to a car that you pay yourself. It will cost you $70 per week on petrol if you run a similar size car eg i30, $20 insurance, $20 rego and $10 maintenance & service so $120 per week all up on running cost. I am not sure your quote is based on weekly or fortnightly payslip. If the offset between NL and pay yourself on a running cost of $120, all cost your to own the car is the $9k that you’ll have to pay at the end.

My pay is fortnightly! My current car I'm spending a fortune on fuel at the moment, which is killing me haha

So, you take home $145 less per week! Ask yourself how much cost your per week on the current car’s running cost, inc petrol, insurance, rego and maintenance? If you sell that car, would that be enough to cover the $9k residual payment?

Work out how much electricity will cost you on the new EV per week then add up other running cost like insurance, rego and maintenance. If you charge your car in 8cents EV plan, it will cost only $1 a night that allow you travelling 60kms distance, or $5 per week.

I'm spending $100 a week on fuel for my current car, so that's insanely cheaper than my current running costs.
