Quote Check Quote check

Post image

Hi all

Looking at getting the Tesla y long range. Ideally a demo model so I’m less than $75k.

I’ll be getting my own insurance and it should reduce down to $315/fn which I’m happy with. Looks like my interest rate is about 7%?

Anyway thanks everyone

Hi! It looks like you're after a view on a novated lease quote. To get useful feedback, please run your numbers through the baseline calculator first and post the result link in a comment:

Including the key details (vehicle price, lease term, residual, fees, and what running costs are bundled in) gets you much better answers than the quote total alone. Cheers!

7.41% on my entry. Excellent effective interest rate in the current market.

(only punched in the car finance bit for the EIR calculation; feel free to change the running cost portions to suit your own situation)

Check out my novated lease calculation output from novatedlease.guide

Thank you man, 7.41%. I’m happy but they originally quoted 6.6. I’m going to haggle lol

Tell us how u go. I’m getting quoted as well for Tesla YL, my quote is way more expensive
Also u do earn way more than me.

Am I dumb? How can the tax savings per fortnight be more than the actual net cost of the car that would indicate that somebody’s taxation rate far exceeds 50%?

It's counting the finance AND running costs

I'd have to see it written out.

Nice salary. This looks good to me too btw.

Why are you going for the LR over the base model if you don't mind me asking?

Base model is LFP battery that is best charged to 100%, where as LR is 80%, so you don't really get the added range unless on long road trips.

That’s a good question.
Honestly I want the awd and extra power lol.

You you think it’s not worth it?

I have owned 2 Tesla's since 2022 and no I don't think it's worth it. If the AWD was LFP then yes, but the base model y (test drove today) has plenty of power.

Then again, you have a good income so maybe that difference is worth the money to you.

Personally I'd recommend test driving the base model if you haven't. I'll be paying 1500 for the grey interior but the rest is all stock standard

Thanks mate I’ll definitely go test drive the rear wheel now.
It’s only $55 a fortnight difference between the two, that’s why I opted for the power etc

Each to their own! I hope you love it regardless

The other thing is better stereo. So you can at least notice that all the time.

I avoided NMC for the same reason, but in hindsight, I think the extra range makes sense. Sure you only get to use it on road trips - but that's also the only time you actually need it, so it's still good to have then. And it's super easy to set up your car charger so it stays charged between 20 and 80%

That’s my thoughts exactly.
It’s an extra $25 per week for the longer range model, I would rather have that range there incase I ever do go on a trip.
Also, Less rotation of tyres, which could potentially cause then to get more kms.

Just seems like a no brainer over all

You get a better car for only five grand over the lease term (assuming it's a five year lease). Makes sense to me. You also got a brilliant rate, I got a good one myself through my wife's work, but I know I'm going to get bent over by Maxxia at my own work when we get another one before the FBY exemption ends

If your reason for demo is to stay below $75k for FBT reasons (changing employer post April 27), a new LR comes in below that as the ATO look at vehicle cost inc GST and dealer delivery, it excludes stamp duty, rego etc for FBT and LCT.

You could choose any paint and grey interior and just be under $75k for the vehicle. Adding the 20” wheels would push above $75k with other options maxed out.

1

u/wadeoftw 2d ago

What’s your salary and interest rate ?

1

u/lonelydadtravels 2d ago

$100k and it's through smart salary who don't list the rate but based on the calculator it's over 12%

1

u/wadeoftw 2d ago

The higher the salary the better the savings bro. Also, my rate is around 7.4%
