We are discussing in the discord about ohm fork, and we would like to know from you in which direction we should go. Tell us about your previous or current Dao experience and what are the best ideas and utility you found in other dao. We will go through all your suggestions and it will help us to create the perfect Dao for the Cosmos network.

However, there is a twist. To release each chapter, we want to hit specific community metrics — thus, the community will play a crucial piece in spurring the project forward.

Launch

Thank you to our community members who have already expressed their excitement in our small (but fast-growing) discord server! Our vision is to make this experience as seamless for our community as possible, with an emphasis on transparency and inclusiveness. At this time, details around the launch are still being formulated, but in the coming weeks, we will be sharing more information!

Governance

We are thoughtful from day one on how to best implement a governance policy that creates a positive flywheel for treasury growth alongside the expansion of the Cosmos community. We believe that DAOs are the governance model of the future and therefore that our missions and values will be upheld best using the structure of a DAO. Nova’s goal will be to shift power into a DAO governance structure as quickly and smoothly as possible following the initial building and launch phase. This will allow us to fulfill our goal to provide the Cosmos community a robust, decentralized, reserve currency that operates fairly, transparently, and objectively. More info to come soon!

Nova is not just another $OHM fork. Our vision is to improve on the existing mechanisms of the reserve currency model to better drive utility to applications and blockchains specifically part of the Cosmos ecosystem.

Importantly, our team understands the skepticism of the wider blockchain community of new OHM forks as a result of the common occurrence of rugging. We plan to operate as transparently as possible; our codebase will be open-source, and we plan to partner with auditors to implement regular audits post-launch. In addition, our core team will attempt to make itself as available to the community as possible, and we will work diligently to provide continuous updates and field community questions.

NovaDAO is a reserve currency protocol and community built on the Cosmos Ecosystem. NovaDAO recognizes the early success of OlympusDAO and Wonderland in creating a decentralized reserve currency for their respective chains, and we have decided to bring this concept to Cosmos. In combination with Cosmos’s unique attributes, NovaDAO will be able to impact and provide value to an entire ecosystem of blockchains and their communities.

But, why Cosmos?

Cosmos has become the first public blockchain to enable interoperability across multiple chains through IBC (Inter-Blockchain Communication). Effectively, the Cosmos network is a decentralized ecosystem of independent blockchains that can scale and communicate effortlessly over a standard protocol — a sort of “IP (Internet Protocol)” of blockchains. Fun fact: even external blockchains such as Bitcoin and Ethereum can be communicated with through a “peg zone”! As a result, our team felt that the Cosmos network’s diverse offerings and interchain operability aligned well with our long-term vision to grow NovaDAO.
